TWISTED SISTER's Version Of 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' Posted OnlineTWISTED SISTER's version of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" (written by Thomas Connor; first recorded by Jimmy Boyd in 1952) has been posted online at the band's official MySpace page. The track will be included on TWISTED SISTER recently completed "final" disc, "A Twisted Christmas", featuring metal versions of holiday classics, including "Deck the Halls" and "Oh Come All Ye Faithful". Official MySpace Page: www.myspace.com/twistedsisterIn a recent interview with Doug Podell of Detroit's WRIF 101.1 FM, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider stated about the upcoming CD, "We've been in the studio… I don't know if you heard about this. It came to us that when it comes to Christmas, there's every kind of music Christmas records — there's jazz, there's barbershop quartet, there's classical, there's easy listening — but there's no old-school metal. And we have just finished recording 'A Twisted Christmas' — 10 traditional Christmas songs done '80s-metal style. I'm telling you — it works. It's unbelievable. It rocks. "You know what? Years ago, back in the '80s, I was saying, 'Man, it would be great if all the bands got together and we each took a Christmas song and did it our own way.' So what J.J. [French, guitar] — knowing this is the last year for me — said, 'What do you think about doing a Christmas record?' And I said, 'You know what? That could just be insane enough to be successful.' So we went in and the stuff works, man. We've got an AC/DC-type version of 'Silver Bells', a MAIDEN version of… This is what we did: We approached it like, 'How would these bands do it?' A MAIDEN version of 'White Christmas', THIN LIZZY, a JUDAS PRIEST 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus'. It rocks. Me and Lita Ford did a duet, power ballad-style, on 'I'll Be Home for Christmas'; it came out incredible." "A Twisted Christmas" track listing: 01. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas 02. Oh Come All Ye Faithful 03. White Christmas 04. I'll Be Home For Christmas (feat. Lita Ford) 05. Silver Bells 06. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause 07. Let It Snow 08. Deck the Halls 09. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) 10. Heavy Metal Christmas (The Twelve Days of Christmas) "A Twisted Christmas" is scheduled for release on October 17 via Razor & Tie Records.

TWISTED SISTER's OJEDA, SNIDER Cover THE BEATLESTWISTED SISTER guitarist Eddie Ojeda's video for his cover of the BEATLES classic "Eleanor Rigby" has been posted online at YouTube.com. www.youtube.com/v/T0kAJrvZ6QkThe clip, which was shot on May 4, 2006, also features an appearance by TWISTED frontman Dee Snider, since he was responsible for laying down the lead vocal tracks for the song on Ojeda's recently released solo album, "Axes 2 Axes". The location of the shoot was the castle on Sands Point Preserve on Long Island, New York that hosted Snider's 50th surprise birthday bash last year. As previously reported, "Axes 2 Axes" features guest appearances by such acclaimed hard rock/heavy metal vocalists as Snider, Ronnie James Dio (DIO, RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH), and Joe Lynn Turner (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN). Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE, DIO, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) plays bass on two tracks, with Chris McCarvill handling the rest. Drummer Joe Franco (TWISTED SISTER, VINNIE MOORE, JACK BRUCE) plays on the entire record. The cover artwork for "Axes 2 Axes" was conceived by German artist Timo Wuerz. Ojeda is featured in an instructional DVD from Music Star Productions, entitled "Eddie Ojeda Twisted Method". Eddie gives TWISTED fans throughout the world up close and personal lessons into his rockin' riffs and blazing solos! Learn rock anthems such as "I Wanna Rock" and "We're not Gonna Take It" as well as TWISTED classics "The Price" and "The Fire Still Burns". TWISTED SISTER To Release New DVD This Year TWISTED SISTER has issued the following update:
"We want to wish all of our fans a very happy new year, and we want to thank those who really helped the band out in 2006.
"First off, to our tour manager and close friend, Danny Stanton: we truly appreciate everything you have done to keep the TWISTED SISTER train moving forward, along with our road crew: Duane Lozada, Jimmy Gregorek, Denny McNerney, Johnny Frederickson and Eddie Meade.
"One year ago this week, we were looking at each other, wondering what would happen in 2006. While the idea for the Christmas CD was rolling around in our heads, we hadn't really thought about what it would truly take to make it a reality.
"Over the last four years of the reunion, January has always been the most interesting month. Offers for summer festivals don't come in until around March, and we always wonder if the current year will be bigger than the previous. After 2005, we could not imagine what 2006 would look like.
"In April, we began pre-production for the Christmas CD, without a record label, and with no show offers. Then, as has been the case for the last four years, offers started pouring in. The reality of recording and completing a Christmas CD by the end of August, coupled with the desire to take advantage of several huge festivals, started to make the summer of 2006 look like the greatest challenge of our career. In addition to this, Billboard magazine offered the band a 30th anniversary issue, and we were notified about our induction into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. Festivals from around the world kept calling: Spain, Belgium, Greece, England, Canada, and Bulgaria (and even a couple in the United States). The challenge then became, how do we do everything? We did 98% of all that we wanted to accomplish! Looking back, the only dates we canceled were festivals in Belgium and a couple of shows in the U.K. What was the outcome of all this? Perhaps the greatest year in the history of TWISTED SISTER. The highlights included:
* Headlining our fourth major festival in Spain * Being asked to headline Athens, Greece for the second year in a row (no band has ever done this) * Billboard magazine 30th anniversary special * Induction into Long Island Music Hall of Fame * Breaking the all-time outdoor attendance record in Quebec, Canada (80,000 people) * Headlining the largest Bulgarian rock festival
And if that wasn't enough:
* The release of "A Twisted Chsirstmas"
"Reaction to the album, both critically and commercially, far surpassed anything we ever had a right to imagine. In fact, it did something that we absolutely did not believe COULD happen. It put TWISTED SISTER back into the headlines, and on demand, at a level which rivaled our peak years (1984/1985). Along with the Christmas album's immense sales, television exposure in the U.S. and Canada made TWISTED SISTER a household name once again. Nothing we thought about one year ago could have prepared us for what 2006 ultimately brought.
"Now the million-dollar question: Where do we go from here? The answer is…2007 will finally see the release of at least one new TWISTED SISTER DVD. This DVD will encompass all of the MTV videos from the '80s, the legendary U.K. Tube performance (which helped secure the band a record deal), and a one-hour television special taped in San Bernardino, California, which aired on MTV in 1985. Ideas for a second documentary DVD are being kicked around by filmmaker Andy Horn, which deal with TWISTED SISTER's club days from 1973 to 1982. This will include archival, never-before-seen footage, and interviews with many of those involved with us during that period.
"On the performance side, as is the January standard, no offers have been made, and we have not committed to any dates."

TWISTED SISTER To Perform At Benefit Concert For Victims of GREAT WHITE Nightclub Fire
TWISTED SISTER has been confirmed as one of the performers at a benefit concert for the victims of the February 20, 2003 nightclub fire, set to take place on Monday, February 25 at the Dunkin Donut Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Also scheduled to appear are Tom Scholz (BOSTON), Aaron Lewis (STAIND), TESLA and STRYPER. The show, which will be hosted by TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider, marks the fifth anniversary of Station nightclub tragedy in Rhode Island, the fourth largest nightclub fire in U.S. history. 100 lives were lost, 200 others were seriously injured and 65 children lost one or both parents. Five years later, funds available for the survivors are woefully inadequate. Only 15 survivors of the fire qualified for Social Security benefits, and many are still unable to meet their monthly needs. All proceeds from ticket sales and charity auctions benefit the Station Family Fund, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization founded by survivors of the Station nightclub fire. They are committed to providing survivor relief, including costs of ongoing treatment and rehabilitation. The Station Family Fund, founded by survivors, family members and community members affected by the fire and the Wake Up To Love Foundation founded by TESLA drummer Troy Luccketta are event organizers. While one hundred thousand dollars was raised in 2005 from a benefit concert featuring TESLA, SHINEDOWN, Pat Travers and Carmine Appice, those funds are in desperate need of replenishing. Additional artists scheduled to perform on February 25 include Carmine Appice's SLAM, Eric Martin, Gary Hoey, CHICAGO drummer Danny Seraphine. Other artists will be announced over the next few weeks. Organizers would like to acknowledge the incredible generosity of the Dunkin' Donuts Center www.dunkindonutscenter.com who has graciously donated the venue free of charge for the charity event as well as East Coast Lighting, WHJY and the many acts who are donating their time in putting together this event. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 4, 2008 at Ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $41.00 to $61.00. For further information on the Station Family Fund and their work, please visit: www.stationfamilyfund.org.

Dee Snider on “Gone Country,” Election, Benefit Concert, Rocklahoma and More
From Rolling Stone:
Last week marked the debut of CMT’s Gone Country, a reality show featuring Bobby Brown, Dee Snider, Sisqo, Carnie Wilson and many other C-listers living together and learning to become country singers. Snider—who now divides his time between a reformed Twisted Sister and radio show on Sirius Radio—got on the phone to talk about Gone Country and a tribute concert he’s planning for the victims of the 2003 Great White fire that killed 100 fans and left many others injured for life. The concert is booked for February 25th at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island and will feature Twisted Sister sharing the stage with Jewel, Boston’s Tom Scholz, Tesla, Staind’s Aaron Lewis, Kellie Pickler and many others. For more info click here.
Dee’s a bit of a talker and after an hour on the phone we figured it was best to present his words intact with as little editing as possible. Follow the jump to read Dee’s thoughts on the presidential election, Britney, American Idol, the future of Twisted Sister and his failed attempts to book Aerosmith for the tribute concert.
On the presidential election: “This is a wide open field right now, but its gonna shake itself out. I’ve been a McCain supporter since the last election, and when he pulled out I was screaming for him to not support George Bush – but he’s a political animal, and you need a political animal. I’m not a Republican, I’m a neutral. I voted for Clinton. I voted for Perot. I vote for the person who I think is right for the job. Everyone thought McCain was a lost cause. I think as the field thins out he will be the man who’s left standing. On the other side of the fence you’ve got Barack, and you’ve got Hilary. Quite honestly I don’t think that on the day of the election – whether its Barack or Hilary – that Americans in general, in my opinion, will not be able to push the button for an African-American, or a woman. They are creatures of habit, they will talk about it, they’ll say change and they will say they like it, and they’ll say it will be a great thing – but they will choke in the eleventh hour. We haven’t had a Jewish person as President. It was a huge deal when a Catholic was voted, with John Kennedy. So, at the end of the day they’re just gonna go safe, and its gonna be one of the Republicans that’s gonna win.”
On Britney Spears: “That squad of individuals, with the Paris Hiltons and the Britneys and the Lindsays and the Olsens and all that shit – they make me sick. You know, I do morning radio and it makes me angry to give the sensationalizing of these girls so much attention – it sends a very bad message out to young women and you see it reflected in the way that girls dress and the way they’re behaving. They sensationalize what they do and they make them look heroic! Britney’s now gotten to a point where it’s just not funny anymore. It’s not something to mock or laugh or call stupid or idiotic or for me to say she’s a slut or a whore – or whatever anybody else would say. It’s a sad thing to see a young person crashing or burning like that and media people need to feel partially responsible because Britney is a creation – not just by management and not just by her parents, but also by the world around her. You know, the way she was embraced and celebrated – she was allowed to become this woman/child. She’s barely a woman – who has just turned into this enfant terrible. It’s just sad.”
On American Idol: “I really loathed American Idol when it started. I loathed the fact that these people were given this easy path to stardom while the rest of us had to slug it out in the streets and in the bars and work for years. My guitar player J.J. French is famous for saying on stage that it really makes him mad when they say “I wanna thank my fans” and they’re talking to the fans that they’ve had for the last six weeks! Fans are people that are with you for six years. But after doing Gone Country with Diana DeGarmo it was pointed out to me that these people go through trials under the microscope – it’s a sort of bootcamp. I spent a couple of weeks with Diana and got to know her, and they walk their own brutal path. It may not be in the bars and it may not be night after night driving around the country but its tough in its own way. So I’ve got more of a respect for what they do, but I still don’t watch it.”
On the future of Twisted Sister: “It’s not the focus of my life anymore. Last year we did seven shows. We’ll do festivals or something like that, and we’ll put on the makeup and costumes and we’ll go the whole nine yards and give the people what they want. One thing they don’t want is new music. If we go, ‘This one’s from our new album!’ you see hundreds of people standing up and walking out of the room. Kiss put out their Psycho Circus record in 1998, and it didn’t sell! The fans don’t want Kiss 2000. They want ‘Rock and Roll All Night.’ So we have no illusions about that. We will continue until the spandex explodes. There’s bad news and good news – bad news is on stage we look like a bunch of aging drag queens – the good news is we’ve always looked like aging drag queens!”
On Rocklahoma: “We headlined one of the dates last year. We haven’t been asked back. I think they’re going in a different angle this year. Last year was the hair, this year I think they’re going with like 80s metal–Maiden and that kind of stuff , where the bands were more metallic side with less hair. Last year was the greatest. People were stunned that there was this kind of turn out for a bunch of hair bands! People said, ‘Why Oklahoma?’ Because that was where the mullet was invented!”
On his failed attempts to book Aerosmith for a February 25th concert at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Rhode Island to benefit the victims of the 2003 Station fire: “I ran into so many walls with Aerosmith, it was unbelievable. Mainly from their management, who just ‘yessed’ me to death and I knew I wasn’t getting anywhere near the band. But when I tried to go around management through friends of the band, I got nowhere. So the thing fell apart. I gotta make this concert as big as I can. I’m gonna shame people into playing. I’m gonna embarrass Aerosmith into showing up. I’m gonna find out their tour schedules. I’m gonna find out where they are that day and I’m gonna say ‘You’re not doing nothing! I hacked into your freakin’ computer and you’re off that day and you’re hanging out at the house! Get your ass over there!’ They’re from the area and they mean more than any other band to these people. They’re the kings of that kind of rock and their appeal to the people who suffered is huge. I’ll be reaching out to Bon Jovi, and I’ll be reaching out to Justin Timberlake, but I’m gonna put the screws to Aerosmith. I love you Steven and Joe, but there’s a greater good here.”

TWISTED SISTER Guitarist Wants BARACK
Wayne Parry of The Associated Press reports that TWISTED SISTER guitarist Jay Jay French has re-recorded the heavy metal band's anthem "I Wanna Rock", which has become "I Want Barack".
French, a lifelong liberal Democrat whose mother campaigned for John F. Kennedy, said Barack Obama, who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, has energized a new generation of voters who previously felt left out of politics.
"He has excited so many people," said French, who founded TWISTED SISTER in 1973, in a telephone interview Tuesday. "He has given sincere hope to people who have been out of the arena for years."
French plays guitar on the track, which features Paulie Z., singer for the band Z02, on vocals and lead guitar. They call the band JAY JAY FRENCH AND FRIENDS and stress this isn't a TWISTED SISTER project because that band's members are split on the presidential candidates.
French said an accompanying video will soon be released on YouTube.

TWISTED SISTER will release a new DVD, "Live At The Astoria", in the fall.
Commented guitarist Jay Jay French: "Recorded in London, in August 2004, the critics hailed TWISTED SISTER's performance as one of their greatest ever. If you're an SMF, and have wondered what TWISTED SISTER thought about any of their live shows throughout their 35-year history, you should know this: while certain bandmembers remember certain shows, and relate tales of particular performances as being their favorite, rarely does the band universally agree that any particular show is about as good as it gets. I can say this without hesitation or ambiguity: each bandmember considered that night to be amongst the most special of our careers. This concert was filmed and kept in a vault for the past four years. When the band had the opportunity to look at the footage, it brought back the heat, passion, intensity and audience participation that was at a level far above all expectations. The DVD will be released worldwide through Demolition Records, our UK-based label, and we look forward to sharing this magical performance with all of you."
TWISTED SISTER's setlist for the August 1, 2004 show at the Astoria in London, England was as follows:
01. What You Don't Know (Sure Can Hurt You) 02. The Kids Are Back 03. Under The Blade 04. Destroyer 05. Like A Knife In The Back 06. Burn In Hell 07. Ride To Live 08. Shoot 'Em Down 09. You Can't Stop Rock N' Roll 10. The Fire Still Burns 11. We're Not Gonna Take It 12. The Price 13. I Am, I'm Me 14. I Wanna Rock 15. Come Out & Play 16. S.F.M

TWISTED SISTER Frontman Confirms 'Twisted Christmas - A Musical' Is In The WorksTWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider has confirmed rumors that the group's "A Twisted Christmas" concept will make its way to Broadway. Speaking to Ralph Sutton of the nationally syndicated rock radio show "The Tour Bus" (web site), Snider revealed, "I have turned 'A Twisted Christmas', the album, into a musical, and in 2009 there will be a new TWISTED SISTER album, which will be a companion piece to go with the existing 'A Twisted Christmas' album. It's gonna be old-school metal songs that are an addition to the show. So 'The Twisted Christmas – A Musical' is a combination of the Christmas album, the new album, which will have new metal songs on it and the best of TWISTED SISTER throughout history. And when you hear more about it, you're gonna love the idea. The people that are hearing about it get pretty stoked. So it's early on, but I've finished the script and now it's time, we're gonna start working on a new album, new songs, so it's the first time for TWISTED SISTER in a very long time… I haven't written since 19… Man, '98 was the last time I wrote a song, and that was for the 'Strangeland' soundtrack. It sort of came out of left field, but we're all very fired up. When you hear the concept… everybody who hears it just smiles ear to ear and goes, 'Man, that's awesome.'" He continued, "It's either gonna be called 'A Twisted Christmas…' or 'THE Twisted Christmas – A Musical'. It tells a story, but it's very much a concert event. But there's a storyline going on between. The show is about 20 songs. The band are the only actors. There is a narrator, I will tell you that much, who fills in the spaces — he's on video screen — and he tells — ala 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show', to be honest — he helps move the story along and tell the story. If you saw 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch', off Broadway, performs and then in between there is interaction, which further moves the story along. So it's pretty involved. It's a unique combination of things that have been done before and haven't been done before. And the goal, really — 'cause we're not playing ourselves, we're playing a fictitious band in the musical — eventually is to, like the BLUE MAN GROUP, have a whole bunch of casts out there during the holiday season performing the show. So that's the ultimate goal. So it's in development, but it's well on its way. Like I said, I finished the script, everybody loves it, and now I'm sinking my teeth into writing the album which we'll start recording in January/February for release in 2009."

DEE SNIDER Joins March of Dimes Bikers For Babies
Dee Snider, best known as the front man for the 1980s heavy metal band TWISTED SISTER, is taking on a new lead role this year as Honorary Chairman of March of Dimes Bikers for Babies. The cause is personal: two of his children were born prematurely, and he's leading the pack to help other babies be born healthy. Despite the wild-man image from his heavy metal days, Snider and his wife, Suzette, have been together for 32 years and have four children. Snider is also a radio personality, television host, author, voiceover artist, screenplay writer and actor. He has adopted the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies as his charity of choice. After riding with the Connecticut Chapter of the March of Dimes for three years, Snider saw a need and created and chaired the event that carries his name — Dee Snider's Bikers for Babies on Long Island, N.Y. That was six years ago. "I'm honored to be a part of these events and proud of their success in raising funds to fight premature birth," he says. Snider will personally participate in three upcoming events: they are in Alabama on Oct. 11; St. Louis on Oct. 12; and in Las Vegas on Oct. 25. He also appeared last week on the Fox TV show "Kitchen Nightmares", riding an autographed motorcycle donated by Lighthouse Harley-Davidson of Huntington Station, New York, which will be auctioned to benefit the March of Dimes. If you would like to ride along with Dee, or make a donation to support Bikers for Babies, please visit www.bikersforbabies.org. "Dee Snider has been a dedicated volunteer for several years now, and we're really pleased that he's agreed to take on a greater role in helping March of Dimes efforts for stronger, healthier babies," says Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. "Just looking out at all of the dedicated bikers, both individuals and families, who come together for this event makes you want to suit up yourself and go for a spin." In total, 30 Bikers for Babies events will be held this year, primarily in the fall months. The rides average between 60 and 80 miles. The event is sponsored nationally by Farmers Insurance Group. As part of his ongoing fundraising for the March of Dimes, Snider will be raffling off a custom-designed bike in January 2009. The proceeds will go to Dee Snider's Bikers for Babies on Long Island, N.Y. Last year, more than 45,000 riders and 250 motorcycle clubs got on the road and raised $2.8 million for babies. This year's event promises to be just as strong. You can locate particular events by logging on to www.bikersforbabies.orgThe March of Dimes is the leading organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. TWISTED SISTER Recording Brand New Song For 'Stay Hungry' 25th-Anniversary Re-Release
TWISTED SISTER is planning a 25th-anniversary re-release of its classic 1984 album "Stay Hungry" featuring loads of bonus material, including one brand new track that the band is set to record later this month. "There's gonna be two discs — it's gonna be the original album remastered, and it's gonna have all the outtakes, including about 15 songs that we never finished; all two verses and a chorus," guitarist Jay Jay French revealed during an October 10, 2008 appearance on Eddie Trunk's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM. "In much the same way that everybody's throwing the kitchen sink in these historical records — we're gonna have that — plus we're gonna have a brand new song that we're recording in two weeks."
Back in 2004, TWISTED SISTER released "Still Hungry" — a re-recorded and expanded version of "Stay Hungry". "Still Hungry" — which was produced by Mark Mendoza, a longtime producer/engineer in addition to his bass guitar duties with TWISTED SISTER — gave the New York-based band a chance to make "Stay Hungry" the way it was first envisioned. "Stay Hungry" sold more than 6 million copies worldwide, but it didn't sound the way TWISTED SISTER wanted it to sound.
"'Still Hungry' is 'Stay Hungry - The Way It Ought to Be'," Jay Jay French stated at the time. "It has an ultra-heavy sound, which is the way we wanted 'Stay Hungry' in the first place. But at that time rock records had a thin, very midrange kind of sound and so 'Stay Hungry' was recorded very lightly. We battled Atlantic Records and producer Tom Werman about it, but we lost.
"These re-recordings are faithful to the original arrangements but they sound much heavier," he continued. "There are an additional seven tracks included — obscure songs from our club days but never officially recorded then. On two of these songs, 'Never Say Never' and 'Blastin' Fast & Loud', we used the original drum tracks that A.J. [Pero] recorded. These songs were meant to be included on 'Stay Hungry' but were never finished. 'Heroes Are Hard to Find' was on the soundtrack of Dee's [Snider's] movie 'Strangeland'."
Six of the seven bonus tracks on "Still Hungry" previously appeared, mostly in raw form, on archival TWISTED SISTER albums. Demos of "Come Back" and "Rock N Roll Saviors" were included on the 1999 Spitfire Records collection "Club Daze Volume I: The Studio Sessions". The completed 2001 studio recordings of "Never Say Never" and "Blastin' Fast & Loud" (with Pero's original 1984 drum tracks) kicked off 2001's Spitfire release "Club Daze Volume II: Live in the Bars", which also featured vintage live versions of "You Know I Cry", "Plastic Money" and "Come Back" (one of just a few songs to appear on both "Club Daze" volumes).
