Lena Headey is Sarah Connor! in "The Sarah Connor Chronicles"
Lena Headey (Imagine Me & You) has landed the plum leading role in the Fox pilot "The Sarah Connor Chronicles," reports Variety.
The project, from Warner Bros. TV, continues the "Terminator" movie franchise storyline by focusing on Sarah and her 15-year-old son John, as they fight attackers from the future in present-day Los Angeles.
Headey takes over the role made famous by Linda Hamilton in the first two "Terminator" films. Josh Friedman will write and David Nutter is set to direct the pilot.
Headey's credits include the features The Brothers Grimm, The Cave and Ripley's Game. She next stars in Warner Bros.' 300.

Her dad is from the u.s. and she just married a guy named Marc Terenzi who was in a boyband called natural?? well, he's an american as well! Oh, i only know that because they are living in the same city like i am and i saw them at the apple-store once, where he bought an i-pod! of course i totally ignored them!

Not sure how this isn't debuting on the Sci-Fi channel but it looks like it may be watchable.... The Sarah Connor Chronicles TrailerThe trailer for "The Sarah Connor Chronicles” has already hit online. The preview shows heavy influence from the films, especially "Terminator 2: Judgment Day” of course. Lena Headey and Thomas Dekker, who play Sarah and John Connor in the series, certainly seem to know their characters well enough. The scene-stealer of the trailer is certainly Summer Glau as the friendly terminatrix apparently sent back to help John and his mother protect the future and its hero. Clearly, "Firefly” and "Serenity” played a great part in landing Glau the role, because she has been cast as one hell of a fighter. The beginning that the trailer paints seems to showcase her as the initial hero of the show, which would certainly be a nice refreshing touch to keep the familiar material from seeming dry and becoming dull after the pilot. The promo features some nice special effects considering its for a television production, but of course the budget and schedule probably won’t allow for the kind of production values fans have come accustomed to that made the second "Terminator” film the blockbuster that spawned this new series. My expectations aren’t high, but I want to see a consistent standard of quality and interest upheld, and if Glau is killed in the pilot or a few episodes in, an asset to the show’s foundation may be lost. The trailer makes me feel confident, but not confident enough to bet on "Chronicles” just yet without knowing where they intend to take this and if it stays on the same old road or if it will become something dynamic and more exciting. Alright, not to sound like some Terminator Fanatic, but the show is wrong as far as the time line is concerned. Personally, I like the show. It's got an interesting feel to it with the time travel, but the time line is wrong.
I just checked out T3 for proof and found it. The TV show starts in 1999 and then mentions that Sarah Connor died in 2005. In the movie (T3), she died in 1997. It is clearly marked on the plaque. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the show took place between T2 and T3?
Anyway, I also checked out T3 and Judgement Day happened in that movie. Now is there a specific date? It never says. The show is now taking place in 2007. Was the bomb dropped in 2003? when the movie was realeased? Very confusing. All of these problems could have been fixed if the writers actually WATCHED the movies so that they wouldn't screw any of these events up. Have the show start off in '94 and then travel to 2002/2003. It would also explain the age of John Connor. T2 was released in '91 if I'm not mistaken and the character was about 13. He would be 16 in '94 and the show would be running smooth. With the show taking place in '99 his character would be 19 and out of school, yet the John Connor on TV is about 16 and still in school. ALL of these problems could be fixed by changing two dates.
When the writers strike is over in Hollywood, I'm getting a job!

I will look into the timeline thing when I get a chance. The show looked pretty good I thought. Fox is definitely dumping enough money into ads and production value... they want to have a hit!

I don't remember if T2 or T3 ever specifically said which year they were taking place in ... Maybe that's the way around it. Also, it seems clear to me that the TV show is almost completely ignoring T3.

I found this at lunch...
According to executive producer Josh Friedman:
"Terminator 3 for our timeline doesn’t exist, now let’s go forward."

That would explain it then. It's easy to ignore movies. Solves the whole, "I had to watch it to make sure it is correct." T3 is still a good movie.

I still haven't been able to check this out but hope to catch an episode or two over the weekend. I am still hearing good things about it?
Anyone watching out there?

I lost interest a few weeks ago and stopped watching it. I though it was boring and it didn't seem to be going anywhere.

I'm kind of the opposite... I started watching it, thought that maybe it would be not worth my while, kept watching anyway and have decided its a show I'll keep following for the time being.

"Sarah Connor" Gets A Second Season
Although Fox declined comment, multiple sources tell TV Guide exclusively that "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" has been renewed for a second season on FOX.
The series debut in January this year pulled in a stellar 18.4 million viewers and generally positive reviews. Interest however quickly slipped with subsequent episodes hovering around the much lower 7-8 million mark.
Despite the finale airing in late March, FOX still hasn't officially announced the fate of the series. The costs involved and loss of audience were not good signs, but the show was one of the few new series last season to score any traction - especially with the key demographic Murdoch's company covets - that its renewal is understandable.
Due to the writer's strike only nine episodes ended up being produced of the planned thirteen for the year. Producer Josh Friedman has previously said his plans are to incorporate the unfilmed storylines from the remaining four episodes into the start of next season.

Shirley Manson cast in 'Sarah Connor' Garbage lead singer to be regular on 'Terminator' series
Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson is venturing into acting in a big way with a regular role next season on Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
On "Sarah Connor," produced by Warner Bros. TV, Scottish musician Manson will play Catherine Weaver, the CEO of a cutting-edge high-tech company.
The sci-fi series, an offshoot from the "Terminator" feature franchise, is returning for a second season in the fall after launching in midseason as the highest-rated new scripted series of the 2007-08 season.
It stars Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Thomas Dekker as her son John Connor and Summer Glau as terminator Cameron Phillips.
Formed in Madison, Wis., Garbage broke on the national scene in 1995 with its self-titled debut album, which spawned the modern rock hit "Only Happy When It Rains" and has gone double platinum. The quartet, which also includes Nirvana producer Butch Vig on drums, has released three other albums, the most recent in 2005.

Here's an interesting thought...maybe the reason people lost interest in "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" was because it did NOT follow the story line. People don't like to feel cheated. I'll catch up on the show over the reruns.
Overall, I liked it, but thought it could have been much better if they had stuck to the original storyline. It would not have been hard to do (see earlier post).

I don't think it had anything to do with sticking to the storyline. I just thought it got boring after a few episodes.

Finally I caught up on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I have to say that I loved the show. I think there was one episode that was a little slow but overall I thought it was great. It was pretty cool to see a little time travel mixed with karate she-bots with a thirst for killing. I will definitely be tuning in for season.... Starts September 8th, 2008!!! www.fox.com/terminator/

I checked out the season premiere of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It was a great season opener. It was pretty cool to see Shirley Manson of Garbage in there as well. Not quite sure about her character yet but it was a solid outing for sure. If you missed it or anything on Fox for that matter, swing by the official site www.fox.com/terminator/ and you can use their "Video On Demand Player" for free. Pretty cool.
