Check out "Act of Treason" by Vince Flynn. It is an easy read; the plot is a political mystery/thriller about a CIA agent uncovering an assassination plot. Very cool stuff.

I've started reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. It's fantasy that's very bizarre and has a lot of dry British wit. The world is a flat disc carried by four elephants who are standing on a giant turtle that is moving through the universe. See, I told you it's bizarre. I'm only on the second book and there about 30 or so in the series.

I will check out the first one also. I'm currently reading "The Assault on Reason" by Al Gore. If you have any interest at all in the corrupt way this country is being led I would suggest you pick a copy up. I had some minute doubts about Gore and some of his policies before, but after reading only half of this book I have concluded that he is a genius. It's upsetting to me that he isn't running for President, but I think he is smart enough to realize that he at better use behind the scenes trying to get some things changed for the better. I recently finished "Lamb: The Gospel of Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" by Christopher Moore. It was hilarious and full of sarcasm and irony. Before that I read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and "The Kite Runner" both by Khaled Hosseini, "Auschwitz: A New History" by Laurence Rees, "A Mighty Heart" by Marian Pearl, "Love In the Time of Cholera" by Gabreil Garcia Marquez, "Bloodsucking Fiends" by Christopher Moore, and "Heart Shaped Box" by Joe Hill. Hill is the son of Stephen King, I also read his book of short stories called "Twentieth Century Ghosts", but found "Heart Shaped Box" to be a lot better. Some of you might like it considering the main character is an old heavy metal singer. All in all I would recommend any of the books (except "Bloodsucking Fiends"-it kind of reeked) because they were all well written and had interesting stories or very interesting facts.

I have read the first two Discworld novels ("The Color of Magic" and "The Light Fantastic") and I definitely plan to continue with the series. They are easy reads and a lot of fun.
I just started reading R.A. Salvatore's latest, "The Ancient." It's set in the world of his Demon Wars series and is a sequel to "The Highwayman."

Check out "The Yankee Century". Obviously, as a Yankees fan, I love the book, but any fan of baseball could appreciate the history within this very descriptive, entertaining book.

Now that I am done with Cell, I will more than likely try to shred through some of these Harry Potter books. Currently working on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

You'll love the Harry Potter series. I used to make fun of it, but was instantly hooked after I read "Sorcerer's Stone". You are kept guessing right until the end of the last book.

Jen picked me up this for my birthday... HOLLYWOOD ROCKS!: The Ultimate Guide to the 1980's HollywoodShe even got me the CD Box set that accompanies the book. It is seriously badass for any fan of that genre or era of Hollywood's Sunset Strip. The Sunset Strip, home to such legendary venues as The Whiskey, The Roxy, The Viper Room and The Key Club (formerly Gazarri’s), first came to prominence in the early 1980’s when an army of spandex-clad pioneers emerged from the trashy gutters of downtown Hollywood. In an explosion of youthful exhuberance and truly fantastic performances, the Strip became the breeding ground for the now legendary Guns ‘N’ Roses, Motley Crue, Poison, Jane’s Addiction, Quiet Riot and a slew of others. It was a time of celebration, a non-stop party that raged out of the clubs, onto the sidewalks, and though it’s been nearly a decade since the height of its popularity, the legend of the Strip lives on in a new full-color photo album, featuring 200 pages of rare and exclusive photos, flyers and press releases from this pivotal era of metal. Whether you missed out on this spectacular epoch or your alcohol-soaked memories could use a little refreshing, Hollywood Rocks! is the most detailed, expansive photo document ever made on the ‘80s metal scene. See early press photos of Motley Crue or read an early press kit by the then unknown band Warrant; you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll wonder how anyone ever lived through it all as Hollywood Rocks! depicts the scene in all of its vivid debauchery!
