LOS ANGELES Oct 29, 2005 — Rambo is back in business. Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as gun-toting John Rambo in the upcoming "Rambo IV," said Ben Nedivi of Millennium Films, which is producing the project with Emmett/Furla Films. The 59-year-old Stallone also intends to bring boxer Rocky Balboa out of retirement. He will write and direct "Rocky Balboa," the sixth film in that franchise, with shooting set to begin next year. Nedivi said the $50 million "Rambo IV" will recapture the rawness of "First Blood," which launched the franchise in 1982. Production is set to begin after "Rocky Balboa" wraps. Michelle Bega, a spokeswoman for Stallone, said the actor wasn't available for comment Friday. A new "Rambo" script hasn't yet been written, but the story calls for the reclusive Vietnam veteran to return to his vigilante ways when a young girl is kidnapped. The first three films grossed a combined $614 million worldwide. Tommy Lee Jones is in talks to join the cast of Rambo 4 reports Stallone Zone. Jones would play the role of Colonel Trautman, previously played by Richard Crenna in the first three movies. The story centers on former Vietnam vet John Rambo, who is living a reclusive life back home in the U.S. But when a girl goes missing, he is forced to abandon his quiet lifestyle and take justice into his own hands.

For some reason, I just can't see Rambo living the "quiet lifestyle"

Think of Rambo IV as the beginning of Comando...
Fade in to scene of John Rambo cutting down some tree and carrying them back to his cabin. Suddenly he senses something...what can it be? He waits, listens and prepares to strike, then we see what has been following him...its his daughter JENNY!!!! The music gets all light and cheery as they frolic in the pool and make breakfast!
AH, what a wonderful way to start Rambo IV!

First official JOHN RAMBO teaser trailer
The first official Trailer (sorry for the YouTube link) has made its gory debut on the net and it may be the bloodiest thing since Dead Alive. Good ole' Johnny R. takes out about 50 people in the trailer ALONE. One unfortunate his throat ripped out, one guy loses his head by Rambo's machete, while another gets turned into pulp (literally) by a mounted machine gun. Sly is directing this one and they are aiming at a summer 2008 release. View this cinematic masterpiece:youtube.com/watch?v=Rx6i090FGzQ Muthagoose says: This will likely be one Mav Himself and El Stallion's favorite flicks and quite possibly the film of the year!

New "Rambo" Has Biggest Body Count
"Rambo", the upcoming fourth film in the Sylvester Stallone-led action series, has the biggest body count by far of the series according to The Los Angeles Times.
Film writer John Mueller made a comparison list of the body counts in the previous films. The biggest difference is that Rambo keeps his shirt on throughout, Rambo is barely shot at, and there's actually less torture scenes than both the sequels. Here's the comparison of most stats:
"First Blood" (1982) Total Body Count: 1 Kill Count Per Minute: 0.01 Torture Scenes: 2 Time of First Death In Film: 29min 31sec Good Guys Killed: 0 Bad Guys Killed By Rambo: 0 Bad Guys Killed By Supporting Characters: 0
"Rambo: First Blood Part II" (1985) Total Body Count: 69 Kill Count Per Minute: 0.72 Torture Scenes: 5 Time of First Death In Film: 33min 34sec Good Guys Killed: 1 Bad Guys Killed By Rambo: 58 Bad Guys Killed By Supporting Characters: 10
"Rambo III" (1988) Total Body Count: 132 Kill Count Per Minute: 1.3 Torture Scenes: 7 Time of First Death In Film: 41min 9sec Good Guys Killed: 37 Bad Guys Killed By Rambo: 78 Bad Guys Killed By Supporting Characters: 17
"Rambo" (2008) Total Body Count: 236 Kill Count Per Minute: 2.59 Torture Scenes: 3 Time of First Death In Film: 3min 22sec Good Guys Killed: 113 Bad Guys Killed By Rambo: 83 Bad Guys Killed By Supporting Characters: 40

Fifth "Rambo" Planned
Harvey Weinstein tells Deadline Hollywood Daily that another "Rambo" sequel is already planned and will involve "bringing the character back to the United States."
The comments come after the fourth film "Rambo" opened to a solid but unspectacular $18.1 million and second place spot over the weekend. Weinstein is bullish over its economic prospects, despite "Rambo III" taking in $53m domestic back in 1988 - an amount this "Rambo" isn't expected to top despite two decades of inflation.
Weinstein's hopes lie in the international market as the "Rambo" films, like the James Bond series, have consistently made 75% of their profit overseas - a quite different margin than other action franchises like superhero films or the Jason Bourne series which earn notably more domestically than internationally.
Yet analysts predict Harv may be disappointed with global totals considering the political climate change in the past two decades, and the anti-American sentiment (or more specifically the anti-Bush sentiment) that has pervaded even other Western cultures in the post-Iraq environment.
