GUNS N' ROSES To Perform At Tonight's RODEO DRIVE'S WALK OF STYLE Awards?
GUNS N' ROSES are one of the rumored performers at the Rodeo Drive's Walk of Style ceremony, which is scheduled to be held tonight (February 8) in Beverly Hills, CA. In addition, GN'R will present at the show, which will honor Gianni and Donatella Versace. The news was broken Tuesday (February 6) during Donatella Versace's appearance on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" program where she called GN'R frontman Axl Rose a "very elegant person" who loves fashion.
Donatella Versace will be the first designer to accept the Rodeo Drive's Walk of Style award off the famed shopping boulevard. The Rodeo Drive Walk of Style honoring Gianni and Donatella Versace will be held three blocks away on the steps of Beverly Hills City Hall at 455 Rexford Drive. The exclusive dinner and concert for 400 will be hosted by Rupert Everett and boast an illustrious guest list, including Prince, Elizabeth Hurley, Sharon Stone, Ingrid Sischy, Franca Sozzani, guest DJ Samantha Ronson, and a rumored Elton John, who is said to be the night's surprise entertainment.
Although Rose, who turned 45 on Tuesday (February 6), posted a message in December revealing a tentative release date of March 6 for the long-delayed GN'R album "Chinese Democracy", there's been no further word on whether the CD will actually surface on that date.

GN'R rocks Rodeo DriveGuns N' Roses brought down the house at the Rodeo Drive's Walk of Style ceremony on Thursday night in Beverly Hills, Calif. The event was a star-studded gala honoring Donatella and the late Gianni Versace. A wall-to-wall A-List, including Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Ashton Kutcher, Sharon Stone, Quincy Jones, Naomi Campbell, Elton John (who also performed), Demi Moore, Prince, Elizabeth Hurley, Ingrid Sischy, Sebastian Bach, Mischa Barton, Franca Sozzani, Paris Hilton and many others attended the event. Donatella Versace personally asked Axl Rose if GN'R would perform, and Axl obliged with a stripped-down version of GN'R featuring guitarists Richard Fortus and Ron "BumbleFoot" Thal, who played acoustics on "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" and "Sweet Child O'Mine" to close out the ceremony. With full command of the stage, Axl moved and sang like only Axl can. Bassist Tommy Stinson was unable to attend because of a personal family issue so keyboardist Chris Pitman filled in admirably on bass. Lead guitarist Robin Finck, keyboard player Dizzy Reed and drummer Frank Ferrer all tore it up. GN'R capped off a magical evening with a great performance that left the captivated audience enthralled and satisfied. Immediately after their all-too-brief set, Axl and the boys went from the stage into the audience, dancing with their wives and girlfriends and mingling with fans as well as society's elite.

EAGLES OF DEATH METAL Leader: We Told AXL ROSE To 'Go F*** Himself'
Croatia's Javno recently conducted an interview with EAGLES OF DEATH METAL leader Jesse "The Devil" Hughes. An excerpt from the chat follows:
Javno: You were on tour with the legendary GUNS N' ROSES last year. I read that Axl Rose called you the "PIGEONS OF SHIT METAL." What happened?
Jesse: That was one of the most bizarre nights in my life. We played in an arena that seats 20,000 people and there were barely 5,000. First some strippers climbed on stage and the audience started chasing them off the stage. That was the first time I saw anybody chasing away strippers from the stage. When it was our turn, they also started driving us off the stage, screaming that we suck, but after a few songs, they evidently liked us. We played what we had planned and left satisfied. Then Axl [Rose] came on who did not actually see us play because he was an hour late for the concert. Then he began playing and after two songs he completely lost control. In the middle of the concert he fired several technicians, his personal assistant, with whom he has been friends for 25 years, and then he said to the audience "How did you like the 'PIGEONS OF SHIT METAL?'" At that moment his bass player just threw the bass guitar on the floor and left the stage. Axl picked up the bass guitar and threw it at him. It was crazy. I think you can see that on YouTube.
Javno: Is it true that Axl later called you to join him on the rest of the tour?
Jesse: Yes, it's true.
Javno: What did you tell him?
Jesse: "Go fuck yourself."

NEW LEAK OF "BETTER"A new version of "Better" has been leaked to the internet. You can find more about that on www.gnrsource.com/forum/. PS: The recording has been confirmed to be real, but not the final version. GNR ON "WORLD TOUR 2007"Accordingly, GnR are currently planning a tour which will bring them to Japan, Thailand, South Africa, South America, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. GnR has already booked two dates in South Africa, and one in Brazil is also rumored: April xx, 2007 - Mexico City, Mexico (possible date) April xx, 2007 - Japan (possible date) April xx, 2007 – Porto Alegre, Brazil (possible date) April 27, 2007 – Johannesburg, South Africa May 1, 2007 – Cape Town, South Africa About playing South Africa, Axl said the following: "I've been fortunate enough to play in some of the most historic buildings and stadiums around the world but performing in South Africa will truly be an honor. I can't wait to see South Africa. This is a dream come true." RECORDINGS FOR "CHINESE DEMOCRACY" FINISHED?TalkingMetal's Mark Strigl has updated his Rock Blog and confirms that Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal did his final recordings for "Chinese Democracy" in January. This, and something else, indicates that the album may be finished. March 6 may still seem like an impossible target for release, due to the time such a release takes. Ed Christman at Billboard said the following in November: "If the album is complete and mastered and the album artwork has been completed, then the set could conceivably be manufactured and shipped to retailers within a month." This also finds support in the fact that I checked with a contact, and he told me "Chinese Democracy" is not on TBA lists for releases this spring. Logically, a spring release may not happen. Other rumors indicates that producer John O'Mahoney may be currently working on production of the album. This may be an error, and O'Mahoney may in reality be mixing the album. The same goes for Dror Mohar. SOURCES: www.nme.com/news/a-place-to-bury-strangers/26432 | strigl.wordpress.com/2007/02/10/free-mp3s-by-wolf/ | www.myspace.com/drortime

All I know is that he can't stop talking about Axl to try and get some fame out of it. That's kinda lame... And, oh btw... The new 'Better' rocks. I think it sounds like the version that were on the HarleyDavidson ad, but I'm not sure if that's the one though.

I agree about the newest version of "Better". Definitely more filled out than the last version that I was aware of.
Here is the latest develop on that... a comment from Bumblefoot...
GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist BUMBLEFOOT Comments On Latest Song Leak
The WMMR radio station in Philadelphia played what appeared to be a rough-mix album version of the new GUNS N' ROSES track "Better" Wednesday morning (February 21). The song has also popped up various download sites, prompting the band's management to contact all sites carrying the MP3 to request its removal.
Current GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal weighed in on the latest leak with the following posting on his web site forum: "This is why leaks are a problem. It's like working on a painting, and someone displaying it when it's only half done. It hurts the artist because something's getting out there that people assume is the final version, the best version, etc. The other people that it hurts are the FANS — I mean, the *real* fans, the ones that care the most.
"The latest 'leak' is obviously some experimental mix of 'Better' — not any version I ever heard, but I don't claim to have heard everything that's out there... Whoever put it out there did a real mindfucking of the fans, especially to do it now, when the album's release is growing closer.
"I have faith in everyone involved in the mixing of the album that they won't disappoint, they'll stay true to what you love about GN'R."

'Chinese Democracy' update from Del James Longtime GUNS N' ROSES associate Del James has released the following update on the status of the band's eternally delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy":The good news is that all of the recording for the album has been completed. Drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal integrated themselves into the recordings seamlessly and will have their presence felt.
There is no official release date, as the band is currently mixing, but after some delays and scheduling difficulties, things appear to be moving along.
Take care, Del James

GUNS N' ROSES: Video Footage From RODEO DRIVE'S WALK OF STYLE Ceremony Available The web site of French news magazine L'Express has a short clip of GUNS N' ROSES performing "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" at the Rodeo Drive's Walk of Style ceremony on February 8 in Beverly Hills, California. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueTdkPjzHb4The event was a star-studded gala honoring Donatella and the late Gianni Versace. The truth about 'Better'By Doug Miller / GunsNRoses.com The song "Better" has been receiving airplay across the country, but there is no official single release. No one seems to know where the song came from or how it got out. Did Guns N’ Roses purposely leak the track? "Here’s what I know," keyboardist Dizzy Reed explains to GunsNRoses.com. "We were doing a commercial with Harley-Davidson. Harley was going to do a version using 'Paradise City' and another version using 'Better.' Their Web site even had a version up for like one day with 'Better,' but the version of 'Better' that they had was an unfinished, unapproved demo. That’s why it was removed. The version that’s getting airplay is that same demo. "Our understanding of how that happened is that an experimental edit using 'Better' in place of 'Paradise City' was somehow accidentally mislabeled as the 'Paradise City' Harley-Davidson video/commercial and was inadvertently released on the internet. We believe the 'leak' came from this source tape and someone with access to it. "For the record, absolutely none of the songs that have been leaked have come from the band or our organization. None of the songs that have been leaked are anything more than demo versions, works in progress. No final mixes. "It’s really frustrating working on something as hard as we have and then having it wind up on the Internet before it’s finished. Hearing a demo on the radio really sucks." web.gunsnroses.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070312&content_id=a1&vkey=news&fext=.jsp

NEW LEAKSWell, we gotten a few leaks now. First an intro to the song 'Chinese Democracy'. About 1:05 long or something. It sounded better than what I had imagined the intro to sound like. We also got a 0:07 clip from in the middle of the same song. I guess this clip proves that 'Chinese Democracy' (the song) is a sweet rocker! Then the last leak for now is the entire 'Madagascar' 05:2. The new song you might heard on the "performance" at the Mtv VMA's in '02 (or something). Well, Axl doesn't sound like Axl in the begining, but as he put it himself "People are gonna say, that's not Axl" when he talked about the new songs. But at the end of the song, 04:24 and on, you clearly hear that it's Axl! The sampling part of Martin Luther King and Michal J Fox and Wilhelm Dafoe among others with a kick-ass guitarsolo in the back is truly amazing! Anyways. These leaks are studio-demoes, not finished products. That's it for now. knut

Following up on what Knut said earlier...
GUNS N' ROSES: Full-Length 'Madagascar' Demo Leaks Onto Internet
On Thursday, March 29 at approximately 7:00 p.m. EST, a full-length, studio-quality version of the GUNS N' ROSES song "Madagascar" was leaked onto the Internet.
The track, clocking in at 5:41, was released as the result of some "cunning" work by a well-known forum member.
Many fans initially speculated that the track was a fake. However this theory was dispelled by GN'R guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal who revealed that the recording was "not an album cut, but an old demo."
"Madagascar", which GUNS N' ROSES premiered at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, is expected to appear on the band's long-overdue new CD, "Chinese Democracy".

Wow--that's pretty damn good for a demo. Much better than the live version from Rio thats out there. Axl's vox are solid and I like the voice samples in the midddle part.
Thanx!

I have listened to it and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely doesn't sound like a finished product but it is way better than the previous version that I have heard.
Makes you wonder how far off the album is... but so has the past decade!
BELIEVE!!!

INJURY FORCES GUNS N' ROSES TO POSTPONE CONCERTS???Guns N' Roses have announced that they are postponing the start of their world tour which was due to start in Japan. The Japanese concerts are being rescheduled. Guns N' Roses will be able to make their two scheduled performances headlining the MyCoke festivals in South Africa at the end of the month. "I feel so bad right now,” explains bassist Tommy Stinson. “I accidentally fell down a flight of stairs. I put my hand down to break my fall and heard a loud ‘pop.' The next morning my hand looked like a balloon. I went to see my doctor and while the good news is that it’s not broken, the bad is news is it’s severely sprained and I may have done some ligament damage. We had our last rehearsal a few days ago and shipped the gear to Japan and then this happened. I feel horrible. "I'd like to apologize to our Japanese fans that were looking forward to seeing us and know that we will we see you all soon. Again, we'd like to sincerely thank our fans worldwide for their patience and support." www.creativeman.co.jp/2007/GNR_special/index.html www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=70296 This is not confirmed yet...
