Launch Radio Networks reports: With a tour, new album, and film all coming up, MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx has plenty on his plate. But he's also working on a personal project called "The Heroin Diaries", which is a book drawn from his 1986 and '87 journals, when he was in the throes of a heroin addiction. Sixx told Launch the book will probably be published in 2007 and is every bit as frightening as its title suggests. "It's done, yeah. (It's) fuckin' dark, bro," he said. "It's a dark journey through a reality that I'm glad I don't have to live anymore. It was healing and unnerving."MÖTLEY CRÜE plans to return to the studio on May 1 to start recording a new album. The group is also working on a film adaptation of its 2002 autobiography, "The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band". The group resumes its Carnival Of Sins 2006 tour on February 10 in Columbus, Georgia.

TOMMY LEE Working With METALLICA Filmmaker On His Own Feature DocumentaryThe Pam and Tommy Tape was so good, many surprised he needs help![/i] According to the Hollywood Reporter, one of the directors of the METALLICA documentary "Some Kind of Monster", Bruce Sinofsky, will turn his camera on MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee, who recently starred in his own NBC reality show, "Tommy Lee Goes to College". The still-untitled film, currently in pre-production, is slated to begin shooting in the spring. "In the rock world, there are few figures as colorful as Tommy Lee, and not just because of his tattoos," Sinofsky said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "This project seeks a candid glimpse behind the celebrity and tabloid personality into who Tommy really is, watching him interact with family, friends and business associates." Sinofsky and directing-producing partner Joe Berlinger won an Independent Spirit Award last year for best documentary for "Some Kind of Monster", which tracked METALLICA's near-demise as it dealt with personnel problems. The pair also shared Emmy and Peabody awards for the 1996 documentary "Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills", which aired as part of HBO's "America Undercover" series. "I‘m honored that Bruce is turning his cameras loose on me," Lee said. Fake ass Scarface![/i]

VINCE NEIL GONE WILD!If you invite MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil to perform at your charity fundraiser, better get him onstage before his inner demons take over. I hear that Neil, 44, was fine during the afternoon rehearsal and sound checks before Saturday's black-tie "Puttin' on the Ritz" gala in Miami, which raised $2 million for a school that rehabilitates juvenile offenders. But some time between then and showtime — around 10:30 p.m. — the wheels came off. According to multiple witnesses, the rocker swaggered through the high-powered crowd of South Beach denizens, judges and lawyers — including star defense attorney Roy Black, whose wife, Lea, chaired the event — brandishing a microphone and spewing profanities. "F— you!" he shouted at another entertainer, drag queen Elaine Lancaster. "I bet you'd like to!" Lancaster retorted. Then Neil attempted to lead his stunned audience in a spirited chant of f-words. "I was disgusted," said a Lowdown spy. Finally, Lea Black intervened, gripping him tightly to steer him onstage, and persuaded him to sing. "I was just so grateful that he agreed to do this," Black told me yesterday. "He's a big-hearted guy who meant well." "Look at my midget hand!"

MÖTLEY CRÜE's SIXX Slams The 'Little Men' On The InternetMÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message in his online diary: "Often I cant believe how stupid the Internet can actually be. It's the 'Wizard of Oz' syndrome, the little man behind the curtain making a big noise only to be exposed as a fearful non-achiever. Finding all these idiots who have nothing more to do than tear down other people, it's a very, very sad state. When you put in any artist, actor, athlete's name into Google just to see millions of people going on about how they are (fill in the insults here). It makes me lose faith in people to see the focus being shifted to other people's dreams and accomplishments and not on themselves. Maybe there's always been this alternative life of arsonists, but they're not just arsonists, they're arsonists who come back as firemen when the idol in question isn't torn down, dismembered or burnt at the cross but actually achieves what the non achiever cannot. Oh, I'm not speaking of me or my dreams, I have skin thick as steel, it's others that I see take the bullets from website snipers that I wonder about. There is a drummer in a band that a producer I worked with once told me surfed the web so often and would actually change what his band was doing based on these snipers and arsonists. This is the downside of the Internet for creativity. "But like a virus, I do agree that they spread our names around many many continents, but sometimes I wonder if we're not spreading our legs and letting their infected negativity in." "What's your thoughts?"

AEROSMITH And MÖTLEY CRÜE To Team Up For 'Route Of All Evil Tour'
AEROSMITH — "America's greatest rock' n' roll band" — will return to the road September 14 with MÖTLEY CRÜE — "America's most notorious rock band" — to spawn what is the ultimate must-see rock event of 2006: a massive North American tour of predominantly outdoor amphitheatres. Bigger, louder, faster, and harder than what rock fans have experienced before, the tour gets underway in Holmdel, NJ and lasts through November 24 in West Palm Beach, FL. With each band featuring all their original members, this marks the first time that rock's bad boys have embarked on a tour together.
The first few dates of the Live Nation-produced tour — Camden, NJ, Boston, Washington, Tinley Park, IL, East Troy, WI and Detroit — go on sale June 24. Two more shows (Holmdel, NJ and Jones Beach, NY) go up June 26. Other on-sale information is TBA.
For the tour, AEROSMITH — Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer — will thrust themselves into the middle of the audience, turning the seats along the 70-foot-long ramp into one big front row experience that will enable fans to get up close and personal with rock's quintessential live act. AEROSMITH were most recently on the road with their hugely successful and wildly acclaimed "Rockin' The Joint" tour, which packed arenas from October '05 through February '06 in what critics called "an exultant return," "a wet, wild and totally sweat-filled night" and "a testosterone-charged set of their patented blues-soaked rock."
Coming off one of the most successful tours of 2005, MÖTLEY CRÜE is bringing a whole new bag of tricks out this year, with massive production and pyro, determined to out-do themselves in the decadent MÖTLEY fashion. Major surprises are in store from the world's most infamous rock band. "As comebacks go, this one is monstrous," Rolling Stone said of their wildly successful Red, White & Crue tour, and this year proves to be even bigger.

MÖTLEY CRÜE Singer VINCE NEIL To Guest On Tonight's 'Criss Angel Mindfreak'
MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil will be a guest on tonight's (July 12) episode of "Criss Angel Mindfreak", airing at 10:00 p.m. on the A&E network. The episode, dubbed "Celebrity Minds", will feature illusionist/escapologist/stunt performer Criss Angel using "hypnosis techniques to drop entire crowds of people to the ground before putting an entire restaurant's patrons and staff under his control," according to an official show description. "His ability to read the minds of some well-known surprise celebrity guests — including Ice Cube, Vince Neil, Mark McGrath and Robin Leach — will equally astound."
Angel recently spoke to MTV.com about his upcoming album, "Criss Angel: Mindfreak", which he says will be the official soundtrack to the "Mindfreak" television series. The 22-track LP was produced mostly by Andy Johns (LED ZEPPELIN, VAN HALEN) and features a DVD loaded with making-of footage, behind-the-scenes action and more greasy Criss Angel action than you can shake a stick at.
On "Criss Angel: Mindfreak", the illusionist worked with several of his close friends, including GODSMACK's Sully Erna, EXTREME's Nuno Bettencourt and KORN frontman Jonathan Davis, who produced several of the album's tracks. The LP's first single, "MF 2", is a collaborative rocker penned by Angel, Erna (who plays drums on the cut) and Bettencourt (who handles bass and guitar duties).
"It was really incredible — I pinched myself," Angel said of recording with the trio of musicians. "To be in a situation working with artists who I respect and admire, artists I'm a fan of ... it was pretty mind-blowing. I'm really excited for people to hear the record. These songs don't need the show. They have a life outside of the show, and these are songs that stand on their own."

Pilot Charged With Reckless Flying for Tommy Lee Flight
LOS ANGELES — A pilot faced reckless flying and other charges for landing a helicopter on a public street to pick up Tommy Lee and take him to a concert, prosecutors said. David Keith Martz, 49, landed the helicopter July 7 outside a home in the Hollywood Hills to give the 43-year-old rocker a 50-mile flight to a Nine Inch Nails concert in Irvine, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the City Attorney's Office. Martz was charged with one count each of reckless flying, landing an aircraft on a public road and landing an aircraft without a permit, Mateljan said. Martz was to be arraigned in Hollywood on Wednesday. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. Click here for the Celebrities in Trouble Content Center Martz, who lives in the La Jolla area of San Diego County, has an unlisted telephone number and couldn't be reached. Mateljan said the city attorney's office didn't know the name of his lawyer. Lee publicist Dvora Vener Englefield said Tuesday that Lee would have no comment. Officers with the police department's Air Support Division, alerted by calls, spotted the helicopter hovering above the home and watched as the pilot landed on the street and went into the house. Other officers went and told Martz that he had illegally landed on a public roadway, but Martz, Lee and two other passengers got into the aircraft and flew south, the city attorney's office said. Two hours later, the party returned and landed again despite being warned by authorities not to do so, officials said.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'The Dirt' Movie In Pre-Production
According to Production Weekly, Larry Charles, (Borat) is in pre-production on his next film The Dirt, a Mötley Crüe biopic based on the rockers' 2001 book "The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band."
Rich Wilkes adapted the book written by bandmates Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Vince Neil with writer Neil Strauss ... tells the story of the band's rise, complete with all the ups and downs in friendships, on tour and in the studio.
Whiskey and porn stars, hot rods and car crashes, black leather and high heels, overdoses and death. This is the life of Mötley Crüe, the heaviest drinking, hardest fighting, most oversexed and arrogant band in the world. Their unbelievable exploits are the stuff of rock 'n' roll legend. They nailed the hottest chicks, started the bloodiest fights, partied with the biggest drug dealers, and got to know the inside of every jail cell from California to Japan.
They have dedicated an entire career to living life to its extreme, from the greatest fantasies to the darkest tragedies. Tommy married two international sex symbols; Vince killed a man and lost a daughter to cancer; Nikki overdosed, rose from the dead, and then OD'd again the next day; and Mick shot a woman and tried to hang his own brother. But that's just the beginning. Fueled by every drug they could get their hands on and obscene amounts of alcohol, driven by fury and headed straight for hell, Mötley Crüe raged through two decades, leaving behind a trail of debauched women, trashed hotel rooms, crashed cars, psychotic managers, and broken bones that has left the music industry cringing to this day.
The film will shoot on location in Los Angeles.

MÖTLEY CRÜE Bassist's New Clothing Line Establishes Online HomeRoyal Underground, the new clothing line launched by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx and Kelly Gray, of the St. John line of durable knits for ladies, has established its online home at www.royalunderground.net. When Gray, 39, met Sixx, 47, for the first time this year, he was in full MÖTLEY CRÜE regalia, and she was wearing Gucci and Prada. "He scared me," she tells Elizabeth Khuri of the Los Angeles Times. "Before the first concert I had Googled MÖTLEY CRÜE and looked at their Web page, and the Web page looked so scary I said I couldn't go." But her friend Tommy Lee, MÖTLEY CRÜE's drummer, had invited her, so she gathered her courage and watched from a distance, safe near the lighting booth. When Lee introduced her to Sixx, "I called him Mr. Sixx and he never corrected me," she says and makes a face. The two bonded over lunch in late June. They went shopping together at stores from her world — Beverly Hills haunts like Neiman's and Saks — and discovered how much they have in common, including a love for luxurious fabrics and an appreciation for the details that make a garment work. That's when they decided the world could use another high-end menswear collection. "We thought there was an opening," Gray says, "to take the inspiration and the spirit of the rock industry, but do it with a twist. Real rock stars." Because they threw the upcoming collection together in about a month — designing the clothes, picking the fabrics, contracting with manufacturing plants, sealing deals with retailers, planning a marketing campaign — Sixx had to be a fast learner. "I'm a sponge for information," he says. "If you understand how it works from the bottom up, you can understand how the top works." He cites as his role model his uncle Don Zimmerman, who started out sweeping floors at Capitol Records and worked his way up to president.

CHRISTOPHER WALKEN To Play OZZY OSBOURNE In 'The Dirt' Movie
ABC News reports that Christopher Walken has agreed to play Ozzy Osbourne in "The Dirt", a movie based on MÖTLEY CRÜE's controversial 2001 autobiography.
CRÜE lead singer Vince Neil told ABC News Radio in an exclusive interview that the 63-year-old Oscar-winning actor will make a cameo appearance as Osbourne in the film, which is now in preproduction and is expected to be released in 2008 by Paramount and MTV. It's been billed as a true-life version of "This Is Spinal Tap".
"How funny is that going to be," Neil told ABC's Al Mancini at the opening of Vince Neil Ink, the singer's new tattoo parlor in Las Vegas.
Neil said that other stars are going to appear in the film as rock stars, including Val Kilmer as David Lee Roth. "We're doing big, giant cameos with those people," he said.
As for Neil and his CRÜE, they'll be played by unknowns.
"The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band" set new limits in tell-all confessionals. The 448-page tome catalogues the drug and alcohol abuse, nasty infighting, and sex parties of Neil and band mates Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.

"Had a good time at the Junker fashion show. Me and DJ [Ashba, ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES guitarist and Sixx's songwriting/producing partner] hung with Slash, Alice Cooper and Billy Duffy along with all the Junker peeps. Good times….
"Met with Paul Brown to finalize the artwork for the book ['The Heroin Diaries', a book drawn from Nikki's 1986 and '87 journals, when he was in the throes of a heroin addiction] and the [accompanying] CD today. We're shooting the first video in a few weeks as well as the fall Royal Underground [Nikki's clothing line with former St. John CEO Kelly Gray] book. Kelly and I are about to make a very exciting business announcement…
"Running Wild in the Night [foundation, which is dedicated to raising funds for Covenant House] is about to break ground on the music program construction… I'm so excited for the kids there. VINCE NEIL's Bar's Outfits Sicken Florida NursesJose Lambiet of Florida's PalmBeachPost.com reports that area nurses are up in arms over a yet-to-open West Palm Beach, FL bar fronted by wild rock star Vince Neil. Neil and his Clematis group plan to outfit barmaids and waitresses in sexy nurse's outfits. That has some real angels of mercy suggesting pickets and a boycott once the joint, Dr. Feelgood's Rock Bar, opens downtown in late summer — possibly with a free concert by the MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman. "This concept is showing serious disrespect toward professional people," said 30-year nursing veteran and former Good Sam supervisor Deborah Copeland. "This is everything that nursing is against. Portraying us as servers in an establishment that doesn't benefit anyone's health is outrageous." Adds Palm Beach Community College nursing Associate Professor Rebecca Pleasant: "Anytime someone smuts the image of the profession, it's demoralizing. There is a huge nursing shortage in the county, and being looked at as mindless sex objects won't help us recruit students." Copeland and Pleasant are among several nurses who have asked WPB Mayor Lois Frankel and Downtown Development Authority boss Melissa Wohlust to run interference against the bar's owners through the permitting process. "The ladies seem to be organizing," Wohlust said. "But there's nothing we can do. What Dr. Feelgood's is doing is legal and within code. We told the owners that some folks were offended by the concept, but that's their marketing decision." Read more at PalmBeachPost.com.

MOTELY CRUE FUNFACT:
In 1983, the band changed management from Allan Coffman to Doug Thaler and Doc McGhee. McGhee is best known for managing Kiss, starting with their reunion tour in 1996. Greif subsequently sued all parties in a Los Angeles Superior Court action that dragged on for several years, and coincidentally later re-surfaced as manager of Nikki's former band, London. Coffman himself was sued by a couple of investors for whom he had sold 'stock in the band', including Michigan-based Bill Larson. Coffman eventually declared bankruptcy, as he had mortgaged his home at least three times to cover band expenses.

NIKKI SIXX On 'The Heroin Diaries' Soundtrack: 'What A Huge Body Of Work We've Pulled Off'MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx is putting the finishing touches on "The Heroin Diaries" soundtrack, which will be released on August 21 under the band name SIXX: A.M. According to Sixx, "All 13 tunes are done. James [Michael] is just mixing the last few now and the album will be completely done next week." He adds, "What a huge body of work we've pulled off. We're all proud to have this album under our wings." On Tuesday May 22, Sixx and UGO.com will premiere the video for "Life Is Beautiful", the first single from "The Heroin Diaries". The song is performed by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba (ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), and James Michael. "The Heroin Diaries" CD is a precursor to Sixx's autobiography of the same name, which arrives September 25. The album's 12 tracks each match up with one chapter in the book; "Life Is Beautiful" can be streamed from the book's MySpace.com page: www.myspace.com/heroindiaries "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star" offers an unflinching and utterly gripping look at Sixx's descent into drug addiction with a soundtrack, featuring James Michael and DJ Ashba (ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), to match. In this candid memoir, Nikki Sixx — MÖTLEY CRÜE's bassist and main songwriter — recounts the band's heyday. "The Heroin Diaries" takes readers along on one of the most breathless and harrowing roller coaster rides in the history of pop music. At its heart lies the author's nightmare come true: a punishing heroin addiction that brought him and the band to the edge of losing much more than just their spot on the charts. Serving up snapshots of rock culture at its most manic, this insider's look at triumph and tragedy is every bit as explosive as the musical odyssey it chronicles. "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star" will come out through MTV Books/Simon & Schuster. The accompanying original concept soundtrack will be released by Eleven Seven Music and distributed by ADA, with a portion of proceeds donated to Nikki's Running Wild in the Night, a fundraising initiative for Covenant House. The book is a tell-all covering 12 months in Sixx's battle against addiction, drawn from Nikki's 1986 and '87 journals, and reportedly makes CRÜE's celebrated "Dirt", now being made into a motion picture, sound like Mary Poppins.

MÖTLEY CRÜE: Throw PARIS HILTON In Jail PetitionEntertainmentWise.com reports that the members of MÖTLEY CRÜE have made it known that they're not big fans of "shitty porn star" Paris Hilton by supporting a "Throw Paris Hilton In Jail" petition. In answer to an online petition asking the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to show leniency, the aging rockers have put their full support behind a rival petition asking the Governor to ensure Paris serves her full 45-day sentence. The petition lists the instances (and there are quite a few) when Paris has "knowingly and willingly broken the law" and urges the Governor to "ignore other petitions asking for clemency and show the people of California that no one is above the law." The band seems to have a particular problem with the New York Times' coverage of events, posting on their official web site. "Why is the NY Times wasting space talking about Paris Hilton's petition to keep her out of jail for drunk driving... twice! Join Nikki Sixx, THE EXIES and other artists in supporting real talent, not bitches like Paris." They add that we should sign the petition and tell the NY Times to "support real artists, real musicians, real actors, not shitty porn stars." Paris is due to begin her jail sentence — now cut to 23 days — on June 5. "Ring a bell, Vince?"

NIKKI SIXX Says Response To 'The Heroin Diaries' Is 'Overwhelming'
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx posted the following message on his web site:
"In New York City doing business for 'The Heroin Diaries' book and soundtrack. There is an overwhelming response to all of it. So much support for this positive project. I'm very proud of this, the music, the book and all the high-level partners who are coming to the table in support. The only downside is lack of sleep, but what’s new. Leaving for Zurich for a rehearsal with MÖTLEY CRÜE in a few hours and then nine shows in Europe. It looks like I might be able to take a day and go to Transylvania to do photography. Kelly Gray is gonna join me and Kimo since she's coming to London for us to have meetings with retail for Royal Underground (we're rolling out a women's collection and jewelry soon). Sitting in these meetings playing 'The Heroin Diaries' soundtrack album top to bottom and seeing people's jaws hit the floor is the most satisfying feeling I've had in years on a musical level. Thank you all for supporting this."
As previously reported, Nikki Sixx's video for "Life Is Beautiful" has been posted at UGO.com. This is the first single from "The Heroin Diaries" soundtrack, which hits stores on August 21. The song is performed by Sixx, DJ Ashba (ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), and James Michael who are collectively known as SIXX:A.M.
"The Heroin Diaries" CD is a precursor to Sixx's autobiography of the same name, which arrives September 25. The album's 12 tracks each match up with one chapter in the book; "Life Is Beautiful" can be streamed from the book's MySpace.com page. An e-card for "The Heroin Diaries", which contains an excerpt from the book's first chapter where Nikki talks about his love/hate relationship with his dealer, is available at this location.
"The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star" offers an unflinching and utterly gripping look at Sixx's descent into drug addiction with a soundtrack, featuring James Michael and DJ Ashba (ex-BEAUTIFUL CREATURES), to match.

MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx issued the following update:
"The new NINE INCH NAILS music, 'Year Zero', is one of the best albums I've heard in years. We all must support artists who fight the system and do things according to what's in their heart. This is a magical piece of work and I highly suggest you do anything you can to get your hands on it.
"In other news, MÖTLEY CRÜE plays our firsts show in six months tonight (June 1) in Zurich. We had a great rehearsal yesterday. I know I'll see some of you out there on this short run of dates in Europe.
"Thanks for your support on 'The Heroin Diaries' project. We do feel it will make a difference..."
