Muswell Hill Journal is reporting that Ozzy Osbourne's quad-biking accident in December 2003 changed his attitude to life. "I haven't fully recovered from my bike injuries — it's gonna take another six months before I get this metal rod taken out of my chest," said the 56-year-old.
"I don't know how long I'll be doing music, but what I tend to do now is live in the present, in the now, you know.
"It wasn't my idea to go on the quad bike and kill myself, but it happened and it threw me down a bit.
"I've had to change a lot of things in my life — I don't smoke, I don't drink and I don't do drugs any more. I used to be actively crazy, I still am a bit crazy, but now I think before I jump."
But Osbourne, best-known for spontaneous crowd-pleasing tactics like biting off a bat's head on stage, hasn't reached for his pipe and slippers just yet.
He is still dedicated to performing and will be touring with BLACK SABBATH again in June, appearing at the Download Festival in Donington Park. "It's the job, you know? I don't sit on the armchair and think, 'Woe is me, I'm f***ed'. I'd rather do a job that I love than sit there licking my wounds."
He adds: "Donington is the spiritual home of rock and I'm really happy to be playing there again. Download is going to be a fantastic show. I'm really looking forward to seeing those fans again."
As previously reported, BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN will co-headline this year's Ozzfest in the U.S. beginning on July 15 in Boston, Massachusetts.

ContactMusic.com is reporting that Ozzy Osbourne cheated on his wife Sharon with their children's nanny the night their son Jack was born.
In her forthcoming autobiography, "Extreme", Sharon reveals a drunken Ozzy "celebrated" the birth of Jack in 1985 by jumping into bed with their child-care assistant.
Sharon says, "Ozzy was loaded when he got to the hospital. Then he collapsed and went home.
"My assistant popped in to see if he was OK and found him in bed with the nanny. She wasn't a beautiful blonde, she was an ugly old cow.
"Ozzy was a raging drunk. I don't know if he actually got it up."
Despite Ozzy's infidelity, Sharon has forgiven his bad behaviour, blaming it on his drug and alcohol abuse.
She explains, "I forgave him. If my husband was sober and having a mad, passionate affair, that would be different... I have been faithful in my marriage."

A representative for Ozzy Osbourne has issued the following statement regarding Ozzy's previously announced guitarist search:
"Ozzy would like to thank everyone who took the time to send in submissions to be his new guitar player. At the time we announced the search, Zakk Wylde's itinerary with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY was quite overwhelming. Fortunately, Zakk has now been able to go back and rearrange his schedule to make sure that he would be available to write, record and tour with Ozzy in 2006 and beyond. Therefore, the search for a new axe man has been called off. We sincerely apologize to all of the talented musicians (and there were lots of them) who were excited by this incredible opportunity and we wish you the best of luck with all of your future musical endeavors."

OZZY TO START WRITING NEW ALBUM...
Billboard.com is reporting that Ozzy Osbourne, who will be inducted — along with the rest of BLACK SABBATH — next week into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during a New York ceremony, plans on returning to the recording studio this year. "I'm gonna get with [guitarist] Zakk [Wylde] soon and start hopefully writing a new studio [album]. I've gotta get a studio album this year," Osbourne tells Billboard.com. "I'm well overdue." Osbourne is also still involved in the musical "Rasputin", which has been a work-in-progress for 10 years. He says there is "a lot of interest" in the project about the Russian monk who was notoriously difficult to kill. Asked if the play would be an out-and-out musical, Osbourne replies, "I don't know, because I've never done it before. It's something I've always wanted to do. It's gonna be drama, I suppose. Some f*cking guy says, 'Oh yeah man, I can see it now: These silver things come out of the sky ...' I don't want 'Star Trek' meets f*cking Russia. I want it kind of like authentic, like 'Fiddler on the Roof' meets f*cking 'Phantom'."

ZAKK WYLDE Says New OZZY Album Will Contain Mix Of Rockers, Ballads
Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) recently spoke to Gary Graff of Billboard.com about the progress of the songwriting sessions for Ozzy's upcoming 15th solo album, tentatively due in early 2007. "There's a bunch of kick-ass stuff on there," Wylde said. "It is just ass-kicking, heavy stuff, and we've got the ballads, some piano stuff and some acoustic stuff."
"It would've been great if we got [Osbourne's album] done before the Ozzfest, but it's like trying to cram three pounds of crap into a two-pound leaking bag, if you know what I mean. There's not enough hours in the day to get everything done.
"But right now it's coming out slamming. I think once the Ozzfest is done, Ozz can start writing at home in the studio and start knocking vocals out."
The as-yet-untitled album is Osbourne's first featuring all original material since 2001's "Down to Earth".

OZZY OSBOURNE: I Will Always Be Involved In OZZFEST In Some WayOzzy Osbourne recently spoke to MTV.com about his participation in this summer's Ozzfest after announcing last year that he'd be retiring from his namesake tour. "I wanted to retire," he explained. "But that lasted half a year. I was bored to death, and I wanted to come back on the road again. I'm not complaining about it, but the downside [to doing Ozzfest] is I never get a chance to go on vacation. Whenever we do go on vacation, it's winter. So this year, I tried to get off the Ozzfest, and [my wife and the festival's architect] Sharon said, 'OK.' But then one guy spoke to one guy and said it wouldn't be Ozzfest if Ozzy isn't there. So [we compromised]. Sharon's idea was to do a couple of headliners on the second stage, and I said, 'That's great. It's right in the midst of the audience.' " This summer's Ozzfest, which wraps up August 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida, will make stops in 27 cities, with Osbourne scheduled to take the stage for 13 of them — four mainstage appearances and nine on the tour's smaller second stage. But might this — as the rumor mill suggests — be Ozzy's last Ozzfest? "I will always be involved in it in some way, as long as it carries along — and as long as I'm alive," he said. "It's my wife and I's creation. People say to me, 'What's the trick? How do you do it?' And I can't answer that question. I'm just so grateful and happy [the fans] come out to see the show."

OZZY OSBOURNE Says He's Working On Two New AlbumsJim DeRogatis of the Chicago Sun-Times recently conducted an interview with Ozzy Osbourne. A few excerpts from the chat follow: Chicago Sun-Times: Tell me about playing on the second stage, Ozzy. Ozzy: "Well, I'm trying to have fun, because the SABBATH thing came to an end. Initially, it was great, because I hadn't played with them, and a lot of people hadn't seen them. But I have to be honest: I wanted to do something different this year, from my own head. So my wife, she yells jump, and I do! But that's what I love doing. "So Sharon suggested the second stage to me, but Blasko from my band [Rob 'Blasko' Nicholson], who was the bass player for ROB ZOMBIE, said to me, 'Get ready for the f---ing experience of your life, because it's like playing in a f---ing soup bowl!' With the main stage, I can't see anything except for the f---ing roof! I always wanted to get in the middle of the s--- I like being able to touch the kids, you know -- though I won't be doing any f---ing stage dives, so they should get that out of their heads! "But what else I'm doing right now is writing a new album — two albums, actually. I have my own studio, a ProTools system in my guest house. We've got 24 backing tracks, and I have to sing the vocals, but it's been so long since I've done an album. [Guitarist] Zakk [Wylde] is on the album, and he's going to be on the tour." Chicago Sun-Times: You're making two separate albums? Ozzy: "Yeah, it's two different albums. I'm not using a producer I've got a good engineer, and I'm just telling him what I want. No arguing! Zakk is f---ing unbelievable, with riff after riff after riff. I like to do an album with a rocker, a ballad, an epic and some general Ozzy-type vibe songs." Chicago Sun-Times: Ozzfest has been going for quite some time now. Ozzy: "I think it's the 12th year. [Note: It's actually the 11th.] Last year was a bad year for me, because I had done New York first, and I got this really bad chest infection. My lungs were full of crap, and it plagued me through the tour my voice was going. But the thing about Ozzfest is that once you start the wheels rolling, you can't stop." Chicago Sun-Times: Did you ever think it would become as popular as it is? Ozzy: "Absolutely not! I'd say to Sharon, 'Well, how long are you going to give it?' And she'd say, 'Forever!' She'd sound like a f---ing tarot card reader, but I'd go out and think, 'Oh, f--- me, it's going to go down the s---hole!' Then it got bigger and bigger, and now it's got its own steam. My wife is a force of nature — she's my manager, and she knows what she's doing, but I haven't got a clue." Read the entire interview at www.suntimes.com.

OZZY OSBOURNE Putting Finishing Touches On New Solo Album
Ozzy Osbourne told Greta Van Susteren of FOX News that he he hopes to complete his new solo album in 10 days or so. Apparently he has been working nonstop on it and is anxious to finish it, according to Van Susteren.
Osbourne was previously said to be working on two brand new studio CDs. The first album is set for release in February 2007. Most of the music was recorded before Ozzfest in May with Mike Bordin (drums), Rob "Blasko" Nicholson (bass) and Zakk Wylde (guitar). Wylde recently announced that he had to cancel three tour dates in October (Oct. 14 - House Of Blues, Myrtle Beach, SC; Oct. 16 - The Masquerade, Atlanta, GA; Oct. 18 - Rams Head Live, Baltimore, MD) with his band BLACK LABEL SOCIETY to finish up obligations in the studio in connection with the new album. The second effort will be the soundtrack to Ozzy's musical about controversial Russian politician Grigory Rasputin. The album will be released first, and then the play will debut on Broadway or as a touring show according to Osbourne.
In a recent interview, Ozzy said, "We wrote a song called 'Rasputin' (for the 1995 'Ozzmosis' album), but then it never got used, you know, and then every now and again I'd try to find this tape of songs. We wrote a bunch of songs, and I put this tape on and thought, 'You know what? That would be a great musical.' It kind of grew on its own. It's the traditional 'Fiddler on the Roof'-type of music, plus the kind of BEATLES-y kind of influence. There's this wonderful song that goes, 'How dark it is before the dawn, the day begins, a child is born.' It's beautiful. I'm really happy about it. I hope the rest of the world is. I spent 10 years of my f—king life in this thing."

SHARON OSBOURNE: 'I Send Turds To My Enemies' World Entertainment News Network reports that Sharon Osbourne likes to take revenge on her enemies by sending them a box of excrement. The wife and manager of Ozzy Osbourne last used the dirty tactic four years ago, when a writer criticised her family's television show "The Osbournes". She says, "The last turd? Three... no, four years ago, when the first review came out of 'The Osbournes'. The journalist said something about my kids being fat and how unappealing that was. "I said, 'I heard you've got an eating disorder. Eat this.'" Osbourne adds, "I've done it for an awfully long time. I suppose I find it funny. "I mean, I don't just do it to anybody. They have to have done something really bad."

OZZY OSBOURNE's Daughter KELLY: Family Member Has HIV
According to The New York Post, Kelly Osbourne — daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne — made a stunning declaration at a London charity gig last night (Sunday, February 18) when she revealed that a member of her family has the AIDS virus.
The singer and actress, best known for her part in "The Osbournes", the reality show about her dysfunctional musical family, spoke at a benefit for the HIV-related charity Body & Soul.
Introducing a performance by the pop band SCISSOR SISTERS, Kelly fought back tears (photo) as she said the cause was special to her because a member of her family had been diagnosed with the disease. Photographers said Osbourne sobbed before leaving the stage.
Besides her 58-year-old dad, Ozzy, the frontman for BLACK SABBATH, her family includes mom Sharon, 54, sister Aimee, 23, brother Jack, 21, half-sister Jessica, 35, and half-brother Louis, 32.

KELLY OSBOURNE's Cousin Clears Up HIV Mystery
According to World Entertainment News Network, TV presenter and singer Kelly Osbourne's cousin Terry Longden is the mystery family member who is HIV-positive. The 43-year-old, who starred in British reality show "The Salon", was standing in the wings when Ozzy Osbourne's daughter went on stage at a charity benefit last week and told the audience she had a relative with the condition. He says, "I told her to say whatever she wanted because it might help someone in a similar situation, but I didn't expect her to cry. I felt quite guilty. She gave me a big hug when she came off."
Longden discovered he was ill after taking a test six years ago, and admits he was terrified of telling his family, which included Kelly, and her parents, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. He says, "I was very worried about telling the Osbournes, especially Ozzy. I was on tour with him in the '80s when everyone was talking about AIDS and Ozzy saw a lot of friends die. Sharon and I are very close and I was going to tell her straight away, but then she was diagnosed with colon cancer and I didn't want to add to her problems."
But when Terry managed to break the devastating news to his aunt and uncle, he couldn't have hoped for a better reaction: "I spoke to Sharon and she was fantastic. She totally understood and gave her support. Five minutes later Ozzy rang and he was great, which was a relief. Then Aimee (the Osbournes' eldest daughter) called. She was a bit worried, but very supportive. Then I had dinner with Jack and Kelly the other day to tell them face to face. They were amazing. I couldn't have a better family."

Ozzy Back In 'Black' On First Album In Six Years
Ozzy Osbourne's first new studio album since 2001, "Black Rain," will arrive May 22 via Epic. The set was tracked Osbourne's home studio in Los Angeles with his touring band of guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Blasko and drummer Mike Bordin. Fans can sample some of the new tunes on Osbourne's Web site.
The new record is milestone for Osbourne since it's the first in his entire career he recorded sober. "I thought I'd never write again without any stimulation," he admits to Billboard. "But you know what? Instead of picking of the bottle I just got honest and said, "I don't want life to go [to pieces]."
Beyond first single "I Don't Wanna Stop," "Black Rain" also includes the songs "Not Going Away," "Civilize the Universe," "Trap Door" and "Thank God for the Almighty Dollar," a number of which were co-written with Wylde.
Osbourne says, "People say, 'Why do you keep goin' to Zakk?' 'Cause you know what? There ain't no one else like 'em. He comes up with the stuff, plus the fact he's a family member. If he said to me, 'Ozzy, I need you to do this, will you do [it]?' I wouldn't think twice."
Before his headlining his stint on this year's free Ozzfest, Osbourne will play international dates beginning May 27 in Moscow. He is also one of the subjects of VH1's "Rock Honors," to be taped May 12 in Las Vegas for a May 24 premiere on the network.

SHARON And OZZY OSBOURNE Have A 'Suicide Pact'
World Entertainment News Network reports: Ozzy Osbourne has reportedly agreed to a suicide pact with wife Sharon — because she doesn't want to go through the pain her father Don Arden did when he suffered from Alzheimer's.
Sharon, 54, claims she and Ozzy, 58, made the mutual decision earlier this year after music mogul Arden lost his struggle with the neurodegenerative disease and died in July, aged 81.
She says, "We believe 100 per cent in euthanasia, so have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains. If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer's, that's it — we'd be off.
"We gathered the kids around the kitchen table, told them our wishes and they've all agreed to go with it. There's no way I could go through what (my father) did, or put my kids through that.
"My father deteriorated at such a rapid speed he became a shell of himself.
Some say the disease is hereditary so at the first sign I want to be put out of my misery." And Sharon believes their decision will spare their kids Aimee, 24, Kelly, 22, and 21-year-old Jack the burden of the illness.
She adds, "It's taken away some of the fear of our ending and is a final gift of love to our kids."

Jack Osbourne: “‘The Osbournes’ Discredited Who My Father Is”
The last time Ozzy Osbourne hit the screen, it was as the perpetual punchline on The Osbournes, the MTV series that lasted four seasons and made Ozzy and his family the finest and funniest televised counterpoint to the Waltons of all time. But now Ozzy’s son Jack is trying to repair the damage he thinks the show did to his father’s reputation by gathering some friends and executive producing his own Ozzy documentary.
According to Jack, his father — a severe dyslexic — “refuses to do a book, so this is more like a talking book, a really thorough autobiography.” Filming began in January, and features interviews with all the principal members of Black Sabbath, the various incarnations of Ozzy’s solo band, family and friends. But the trick, Jack says, is getting them to be truthful. “The hard thing is getting people to be honest and not have it be a fluff piece, because that’s not what we’re trying to do,” he said. “I’m trying to paint a realistic picture of who my father is. I think The Osbournes, to a degree, tarnished the public’s perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy. Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it’s not him. I think that almost discredited who he is as an artist. My dad’s not an idiot — he’s nothing short of a genius, in my opinion. He does have huge flaws, and we’re trying to really paint an honest picture of that.”
The film’s production schedule is open-ended, and Jack hopes to be able to preview segments at next year’s Ozzfest — in whichever incarnation Ozzfest appears. “Next year at Ozzfest we’re talking about doing a traveling museum,” he said. “It’s something we were talking about after the show, having a museum at the gig where fans can go in and look at old photos and old memorabilia, and at the end of it, it would have a five-minute clip of the doc just to start to get it out there. I think it’s very dependent on what other tours are going out next summer. I think because of the success of the Texas show, it’s almost like, ‘Why bother doing a massive tour again?’”
In addition to the film about his father (initially titled John, which is Ozzy’s given name), Jack is filming the fourth season of his outdoor adventure show Adrenaline Junkie and producing a documentary about volunteer EMT technicians in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
