BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE TO RELEASE SOPHOMORE ALBUM, "SCREAM AIM FIRE," ON JAN. 29, 2008
Special "Fan Pack" Digital Single With Bonus Content Available for Download on December 18
Los Angeles, CA - November 14, 2007 -- Having spent most of the last two years taking over the world with massive UK, European, U.S. and worldwide headline tours, supporting Guns N Roses, Metallica and Iron Maiden, playing Main Stage at almost every rock festival across the world, and seeing their 2006 debut album, "The Poison" - an album London's daily The Sun called "One of the finest debut albums in rock history" - sail past the million sales mark (350,000 in the U.S. alone), BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE is set to return with album number two, "Scream Aim Fire," set for release in the U.S. on January 29, 2008 (Jive/SonyBMG).
"Scream Aim Fire" was produced by Colin Richardson (Machinehead, Funeral For A Friend) who also produced "The Poison," and was recorded at Sonic Ranch near El Paso, TX earlier this year. The eleven new songs are, according to frontman Matthew Tuck, "really melodic heavy metal...catchy, hooky choruses and full-on vocals, with the music being very in-your-face and heavy...it's a lot more uptempo [than 'The Poison'], a lot more aggressive."
An exclusive 15-minute digital single - a special sneak preview of "Scream Aim Fire" - will be available for download beginning December 18. Two of the album's tracks, "Eye of the Storm" plus the title track will be included, along with the band's Matt and Moose providing a behind-the-scenes track-by-track commentary about the album. The "Scream Aim Fire" digital single will sell for $1.98 and be available through all the major digital media services (iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, etc.).
The four-piece metal core band from Bridgend, South Wales, UK - Matthew "Matt" Tuck/vocals, Michael "Padge" Paget/Guitar, Michael "Moose" Thomas/drums, and Jason "Jay" James/Bass - are, according to the UK's Kerrang!, well on their way to "phase two of world domination" with the new disc. For "The Poison," Bullet For My Valentine graced the covers - at least once - of Kerrang!, Rock Sound, and Metal Hammer. In addition, they won Metal Hammer's 2006 "Golden God Award" for Best British Band, and the 2006 Kerrang! Award for "Best UK Single" for their track "Tears Don't Fall." Here in America, the band was named "British Import of the Year" in Revolver, and "The Poison" generated the hit singles "Tears Don't Fall" and "All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)," with the video for "All These Things I Hate" going to the #1 spot on MTV2.
Bullet For My Valentine will headline a tour of the UK and Europe starting in late January, and will then head to the U.S. in late February. Details to be announces shortly.
Full track listing for "Scream Aim Fire" is as follows:
Scream Aim Fire Eye of the Storm Hearts Burst Into Fire Waking the Demon Disappear Deliver Us From Evil Take It Out On Me Say Goodbye End of Days Last to Know Forever and Always

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Drummer Says AXL Is 'Stuck In 1992', Calls ZOMBIE's Rules 'Stupid'
InTheNews.co.uk's Lewis Bazley recently conducted an interview with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE drummer Mike "Moose" Thomas about the heavier sound of their second album, Rob Zombie's rules and the importance of drinking. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:
Q: How did you guys get together and what went wrong with your former band JEFF KILLED JOHN?
Moose: We started that in 1997 when we were in music college together and we were basically following a music trend that we would thought would be our key to success. And then our bass player left, and we just started music like what we grew up listening to, basically.
Q: You probably get asked this all the time but — who came up with the name and what does it mean?
Moose: We were all drunk one night, all sat around and we just put two words together. I really liked BULLET and I really liked VALENTINE so we thought that worked. And we just decided to keep it.
Q: So do you think the music industry's more open to MAIDEN-esque metal now?
Moose: Well, it's nice to be putting this kind of metal back in the mainstream. Kids that buy our stuff will go back and listen to early METALLICA or early MAIDEN and that's pretty cool.
Q: IRON MAIDEN are a clearly a huge influence — was it an honour to tour with them?
Moose: Yeah, it was great. When we got the opportunity to open up for them, it was unbelievable, really.
Q: How did you go down with their crowds?
Moose: Unfortunately not very well. It's the same for any band that plays before IRON MAIDEN. You get booed, you get stuff thrown at it. It's pretty hard, but we were just glad to be supporting IRON MAIDEN.
Q: And how was touring with GUNS N' ROSES?
Moose: That was more like a circus (laughs).
Q: What's Axl Rose like?
Moose: We never met him in person. He's stuck in 1992 or something.
Q: I don't know how much you can talk about this, but are you allowed to discuss what happened with getting kicked off the ROB ZOMBIE tour?
Moose: We got offered the tour and said: "Yeah, we'll do it" and straight away, we got emailed this list of "rules" which we had to follow. I mean, coming from Wales, touring, we like to have a drink, but that wasn't allowed. We weren't allowed to talk to Rob Zombie or his girlfriend, told not to look at them. It was just a list of stupid rules and one day Matt just cracked and put something on our website. We got asked to leave and we were happy to!
Q: You've covered METALLICA's "Creeping Death" and "Sanitarium" for compilation records — are those your favorite METALLICA songs?
Moose: No, we got asked to pick one from "Master of Puppets" and just figured out which one would suit us the best. If we were to write a song like METALLICA, it would probably be like "Sanitarium". And we used to play "Creeping Death" when we were in JEFF KILLED JOHN, we love "Ride the Lightning", so we decided to chuck it in live.
Q: To go back a long way - why did you guys decide to sign for Sony rather than Roadrunner Records?
Moose: We just thought… Roadrunner is a great label, they have great artists, but we feel that after album number two, nothing much happens. The bands kind of fall off the face off the Earth. And because we wanted to be the biggest band we could and Sony were offering so much more, we picked them.
Q: How's the new record different?
Moose: It's a lot heavier, a lot faster, but at the same time, it's really melodic and kind of like mainstream metal.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Frontman Says GUNS N' ROSES Is Prime Example Of How Not To Act On Tour
Revolver magazine recently conducted an interview with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE frontman Matt Tuck. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:
Revolver: Did the success of "The Poison" lead you to feel more confident in the studio this time?
Tuck: The studio is always a relaxed place to us. It's where we're at our most creative and where we shine as songwriters. All the bits and pieces come along on the road, but it's in the studio where all these creative ingredients just pour out of us. We had the luxury this time as well of not having any kind of deadline or anything. We could really take our time and get into it, and if we weren't happy, we'd just start again. That's where Colin [Richardson, producer] came in, because we trust him implicitly.
Revolver: Was working with Colin again a no-brainer?
Tuck: Totally. He just gets what we're doing and what we want to achieve and the way we want to sound. Even when things were bad with my voice and we were in the studio for three weeks without one word being put down on ProTools, there was no negativity. He never got frustrated. He was just like, "No worries — we'll take a break for a few weeks and come back." He pretty much kept it together when times were getting really ugly.
Revolver: A good deal of your touring in support of "The Poison" included dates with older, more established metal bands. Was that exciting?
Tuck: yeah, it means a lot. It's something you never think of when you join a band as a teenager and you look up to these people as complete fucking gods. To even know that they know who we are is fucking amazing. It still hasn't sunk in that we've done something like that. They know us personally and are calling us by our names.
Revolver: How has that changed your ideas about who or what a rock star is?
Tuck: We've kind of seen what to do and what not to do if you get to that level. When we were on tour with GUNS N' ROSES, that was a prime example of how not to fucking act on tour. Then with MAIDEN and METALLICA it was the complete opposite. They made us feel so welcome, and anything we wanted, they were more than happy to give us. It was nice to see that though they've established godlike myths about them, when you actually get them one-on-one in a room, they're just Mr. Average. It was inspiring to see that our heroes weren't dicks.
Revolver: One thing that unites acts like METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES is that they play to incredibly varied audiences. It's not just kids who know everything there is to know about the history of metal. Does establishing that kind of following appeal to you?
Tuck: That'd be cool, yeah. We've had our fair share of something similar, which is playing in front of people who really don't understand what's going on in modern metal. The MAIDEN experience, for example — there were 40- and 50-year-old men with mullets and denim jackets, you know? It was mad to see how out of touch some people are with modern rock music.
Revolver's entire interview with Matt Tuck can be found in the magazines' March 2008 issue, available on newsstands now.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE: Cancel Remaining Taste of Chaos Dates Due To Family Illness
Bassist/backing vocalist Jason "Jay" James of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE has had to fly home from the band's current U.S. tour in order to tend to his ailing daughter, and after some consideration, the band have decided to cancel all remaining Taste of Chaos dates as well.
Speaking from San Jose, California, where the group played at the weekend as part of the 40-plus-city North American Taste of Chaos trek alongside AVENGED SEVENFOLD and ATREYU, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck explained, "Jay had a call last night about his little girl. She's very, very ill — she's in the hospital. I'm not gonna go into too much detail 'cause that's obviously his personal stuff — but she's very ill and he had to fly home straight away, which obviously is the correct thing to do, and he wants to be there by her bedside and hopefully she's gonna pull through. He didn't have any choice — he had to go home — and that was totally fine with us. So for tonight, we've got our guitar tech Kevin on bass, and we've got about five songs nailed — we're confident he can do five. We're gonna give it a shot. It's devastating for all of us, and we're all very worried, but we're gonna go on tonight, see how it goes and that's it, really — it's all we can kind of do. We owe it to the fans that come tonight, obviously."
After that show, the band and management decided they couldn't continue without Jay on the TOC dates, and have flown home to be with their friend and band mate.
The band will restart dates from their Australian tour at the beginning of May.
