GREEN JELLŸ Reunites, Plans U.S. Tour

GREEN JELLŸ, the American comedy heavy metal/punk rock group, has reformed and is in the process of booking a national tour this summer. In addition, the band will re-release the "Cereal Killer" and "333" videos/albums on DVD.

Originally named GREEN JELLÖ, the group changed its name due to legal pressure from the owners of the Jell-O trademark, Kraft Foods, who claimed that it was an infringement on their trademark. Despite the spelling difference, the new name and the old are pronounced identically.

GREEN JELLŸ is set to play the new Milwauee Metalfest on June 7 at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Danny Carey from TOOL was a member of GREEN JELLŸ for five years, and played drums on the album "Cereal Killer". He is also featured in the video for "Electric Harley House (Of Love)", among others. Maynard James Keenan, the vocalist for TOOL, was also once a "member" of GREEN JELLŸ. On the song "Three Little Pigs", Maynard sang backing vocals (he sings the falsetto "Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin.") Maynard is also mentioned in the song "Green Jellö Sucks" in the lyric "Maynard, and Poopie - they're both insane!"

GREEN JELLÖ: Tour Dates Postponed

GREEN JELLÖ, the reformed American comedy heavy metal/punk rock group, has postponed the final two weeks' worth of dates on its comeback tour in order to hit the studio to record a new CD.

The band has vowed not to release the album through any record company. "Record companies take too much money for doing nothing," says Moronic Dictator. "You will only be able to buy it at shows or directly through our web site. We can do it ourselves... make all the cash to fund everything we need to do."

GREEN JELLÖ has rescheduled many of the dates for its fall tour which will be supported by fellow JELLÖ members' bands THE RADIOACTIVE CHICKEN HEADS, ROSEMARYS BILLYGOAT and MANDOWN.

GREEN JELLÖ came out of Los Angeles in the early '90s as a combination of metal, punk, satire and performance art. While the group was best known for its album "Cereal Killer" and cult hit "Three Little Pigs", it was also where future TOOL drummer Danny Carey and singer Maynard James Keenan first met. Carey spent five years with the group and told The Pulse of Radio what he remembered most about it. "At the time when I was playing with them, it was pretty rad," he said. "It was more of almost an X-rated vibe to it when we were just playing in clubs, you know, for older people. It was just controlled chaos in a lot of ways, and then once the record deal happened and stuff, you know, they were kind of freaking out on censorship issues and it turned into more of a kiddie vibe or something. It was an obvious choice for me to go with TOOL at that point."
