GREAT WHITE: To Perform at "Rock Out For Ovarian Cancer" Benefit

The 80’s rock band, Great White will be performing on June 7, 2008 at Romer’s Catering and Entertainment Facility in Celina as part of a fundraiser for ovarian cancer. The event titled “Rock Out for Ovarian Cancer” is being held to raise money for ovarian cancer research and awareness. Net proceeds from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society and will be earmarked for ovarian cancer research and education.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with local Doctors and Oncologists speaking to promote ovarian cancer awareness.

At 8:00 p.m., the opening band, Teays Vein from Ft. Wayne, IN will perform. At 9:00 p.m. a memorabilia auction will be held featuring autographed items from Great White. Great White will take the stage at 10:00 p.m.

Tickets for the event are just $40 each.

A very limited number of V.I.P. tickets are available for $100 each and include a private meet and greet with Great White after the show. GREAT WHITE, WARRANT Members Join
Forces In All-Star BEATLES Tribute Group

World Entertainment News Network reports that GREAT WHITE members Jack Russell and Michael Lardie have teamed up with WARRANT singer Jani Lane to form a new all-star THE BEATLES tribute group. According to Russell, plans exist for the group to record an album of THE BEATLES covers and then tour.

He says, "I think it'll be a lot of fun. THE BEATLES are definitely the reason I got into music.

"This is just another way for us to express our gratitude and to show where we come from. I was gonna be an archaeologist and then I heard THE BEATLES' 'Help!' album and I was like, 'That's it. I wanna be a rock star now.'"

Russell believes the combination of THE BEATLES and 1980s rockers will prove to be a winning ticket. "We're a bunch on '80s rockers and I think that's gonna make a difference," he says. "I think that'll make us stand out a little bit from all the other BEATLES tribute acts.

"People aren't gonna expect a lot from us, but there's a lot of great music in us.
"I think we're gonna call ourselves THE REVOLUTION. We're justkicking about names right now, and that's something we thought of off the top of our heads."

Headlines Benefit Promoting Healing Through Music

GREAT WHITE with friends DOKKEN, SWEET AND ASIA will rock the house to help raise awareness and funds for Rancho Bernardo United Coalition and their benefit Promoting Healing Through Music October 24th at eh Qualcom Stadium in San Diego, California.

The RB United Coalition is now the home of the long term recovery center (LTRC) for Rancho Bernardo, assisting our fire-impacted families and the community in rebuilding RB together. The RB United Coalition's LTRC provides advocacy, information and referral, and coordination of assistance services for our fire-impacted households. The RB United Coalition has also created task forces working to address environmental, HOA, senior, youth, and other issues impacting the entire Rancho Bernardo Community. We recognize all of RB was affected in many different ways by the fires and we hope to bring the community together recover, rebuild, and heal.

RB United is one of six long term recovery centers (LTRC) in San Diego County, created by a grant from The San Diego Foundation to aid each fire-impacted community in its recovery process. The other long term recovery centers are Rebuild Escondido, Ramona Fire Recovery Center, Harris Fire Recovery Center, Fallbrook, migrant/farm workers. The mission of these county recovery teams is to provide and coordinate emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual resources to help rebuild the homes and lives of families affected by the San Diego Wildfires of October 2007.
