The Lost Boys Sequel goes into Pre-Production!The only problem is there is no script yet, just an idea. The idea is exactly as was reported: "The story will revolve around surfing vampires in Southern California." Rumor has it "that executive producer Richard Donner talked about doing a sequel that would show Edgar and Alan Frog A.K.A. The Frog brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander in the original film) starting a vampire hunting business that would take them to Washington D.C." We have also confirmed that Feldman has been approached for the sequel, and that there's a good chance he'll return. Think they might run with this subplot? "Drop Your Weapon!!!!"A sequel to The Lost Boys will indeed start shooting sometime in the first quarter of 2007 in San Diego, CA. It is slated for a direct to DVD release with no theatrical plans at this time. This continues WB’s plans to make low budget DTV sequels from their extensive film library. The original The Lost Boys film was released in 1987 and is about a group of kids from Santa Clara (Santa Cruz-like town), CA. who must fight a gang of motorcycle riding teenage vampires. It starred Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, Barnard Hughes, and was directed by Joel Schumacher. The rumors regarding a sequel have been floating around since the late 80’s and even Joel Schumacher was pitching a sequel idea during the 90’s but to no avail. At one time there was talk of remaking the film and calling it The Lost Girls.

'The Lost Boys 2' Finds a Director, Preps Shoot!
The long-rumored sequel to The Lost Boys (1987) is now prepping in Vancouver, Canada, according to Moviehole.net. The website also reports that P.J Pesce, a filmmaker familiar with the vampire terrain having tackled Dimension’s From Dusk Till Dawn 3, is attached to helm.
Joel Schumacher, of course, directed the classic original.
They also reveal that Corey Feldman was a part of the sequel’s cast but “that’s not on the cards anymore.” From the sounds of it, it’s an all-new set of cast and characters. The sequel, titled The Lost Boys: The Tribe and expected to be released on DVD next year via Warner, will shoot thru June 11 to July 13.
No word on if there will be a scene featuring a shirtless, bodybuilding saxophone player.

Angus Sutherland - Keifer's half-brother (and son of Donald Sutherland and Francine Racette) - will star as this film's big bad vamp. Lensing begins, with P.J. Pesce (From Dusk Till Dawn 3) at the helm, a week from Monday.

Savini Joins Cast Of 'Lost Boys' Sequel
According to Fango Radio, Tom Savini will appear in The Lost Boys: The Tribe.
"I'm one of the first vampires you see in the movie," Savini said of the sequel to the much-loved 1987 Joel Schumacher teen horror hit. "I'm a surfer who runs into the vampires at the beginning of the film, in a sequence that is shot very Sergio Leone-style. They're shooting THE TRIBE in Vancouver right now, and I'll be there September 11." Savini also believes that the film will be going theatrical due to the success of Coreys Feldman and Haim's reality show. Savini joins a cast that includes the two Coreys, Keifer Sutherland's brother, and some other folks.

Haim Might Miss Trip For 'Lost Boys 2' Role
News hit the web two weeks ago that both Corey Feldman and Corey Haim would both be making cameo's in Warner Home Video's The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, which is now filming in Vancouver, Canada.
Sad news came in over at MTV as they report that Haim might not be involved because of travel complications, "There are major logistical obstacles that exist," Haim's manager says referring to immigration problems he may have in traveling in and out of the country. More news as it comes in. The story will revolve around surfing vampires in Southern California.
Yes, you read that right, surfing vampires.

More Bloodsucking Surfers Cast in 'The Lost Boys: The Tribe'
Joining Angus Sutherland’s pack of surfing bloodsuckers in Warner Home Video's The Lost Boys: The Tribe will be Kyle Cassie (Devour), Shaun Sipos (The Grudge 2) and Merwin Mondesir (Godsend), according to Moviehole.net.
They’ll be the ones keen to turn young siblings in trouble, Tad Hilgenbrink and Autumn Reeser, into creatures of the night.
Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander are reprising their roles from the first film – and yes, despite reports that Corey Haim is having some working visa issues, he’s still very much a part of the film.

Warner Premiere’s ``Lost Boys 2: The Tribe'' is in Production
Frog Brothers Reprise Original Roles Under the Direction of P.J. Pesce
BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Corey Feldman returns to familiar turf in the Warner Premiere event, “Lost Boys 2: The Tribe,” the direct-to-DVD sequel to the 1987 cult hit “The Lost Boys” that also features his fellow Frog Brother, Jamison Newlander, along with Tad Hilgenbrink, Autumn Reeser and Angus Sutherland. The announcement was made today by Diane Nelson, President, Warner Premiere.
Principal photography began in late August on location in Vancouver, under the direction of P.J. Pesce. This sequel takes us to the shady surf city of Luna Bay, California, where vampires quickly dispatch anyone who crosses their path. Into this dark world arrive Chris Emerson (Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Reeser). Having just lost their parents in a car accident, the siblings move in with their eccentric Aunt Jillian and become new prey for the locals’ way of life. When Nicole unwittingly falls for a local vampire, Chris must locate and destroy the gang’s lifeline before his sister’s transformation is complete; to do this Chris finds himself relying on the expertise of none other than Edgar Frog (Feldman). Subtle references to characters from the original film, and cameos from returning actors offer homage to the Lost Boys legend and set a sinister tone of impending doom.
“Last year when Warner Premiere was established, we knew we wanted to engage with fans of The LOST BOYS and have this title on our slate because the original is a favorite film of so many people,” said Nelson. “With Hans Rodionoff’s strong script, and PJ onboard to direct, we were able to realize this project quickly, casting up-and-coming talent like Autumn, Tad and Angus, as well as key players from the original with Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander returning as the infamous Frog Brothers. We have tremendous respect for Joel Schumacher’s original film and are striving to maintain the tone and integrity of the original, while offering something fresh to old and new fans alike.”
Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander are set to reprise their original roles of Edgar and Alan Frog, respectively, in the vampire-centric sequel. Feldman shot to fame in the mid 1980’s starring in a number of successful films like “The Goonies,” “Stand By Me,” “License To Drive,” and two chapters of the “Friday the 13th” series. Following the success of “The Lost Boys,” Feldman also had a successful run with several television and music projects. Currently, Feldman is headlining a reality series on A&E called “The Two Coreys.”
“I am truly excited to be on board for this sequel,” says Feldman. “After reading the latest script I genuinely believe we can deliver a sequel the fans can sink their teeth into. I also commend Warner Premiere on their choice to include Jamison Newlander. Edgar Frog has been laying in wait for 20 years to stake some more vampires and that is exactly what he intends to do with his brother Alan by his side.”
Jamison Newlander is back as Alan Frog, the other half of the vampire-slaying Frog brothers, in the sequel. Newlander most recently wrote, directed, starred in and produced a comedy short called “The Rooster.”
Autumn Reeser stars as Nicole, a teenager who moves to Northern California and finds herself entangled with a gang of vampires. Reeser most recently starred on Fox’s hit teen drama “The O.C.” Her additional television credits include “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Cold Case,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Grounded for Life” and “George Lopez.” Reeser also appeared in “The Girl Next Door,” opposite Elisha Cuthbert and Emilie Hirsch.
Tad Hilgenbrink portrays Nicole’s brother, Chris, who – along with his sister – falls in with the dangerous gang of vampires. Hilgenbrink is best known for his role as Matt Stifler in “American Pie Presents: Band Camp.” He will next be seen in the horror film “30 Days of Night.”
Angus Sutherland, half-brother of “Lost Boys” star Kiefer Sutherland, stars as the leader of the gang of surfing vampires, echoing Kiefer’s ‘David’ from the original film. Sutherland appeared on the CBS political drama “Commander in Chief” and will next be seen in “Familiar Strangers,” due out later this year.
Screenwriter Hans Rodionoff is no stranger to the vampire genre, as writer and director of 1998’s “Sucker: The Vampire.” Other credits include co-writing TV’s “Saint Sinner,” based on a story by Clive Barker, and shared writing credits with director Mort Nathan on “National Lampoon’s Bag Boy,” slated for release in 2007.
P.J. Pesce is an independent filmmaker who has earned several accolades for his work through the festival circuit. In 1994, Pesce was named Best Independent Director of the Year at the Hamptons International Film Festival for his critically acclaimed film “The Desperate Trail,” which he wrote and directed. He also received a Special Grand Jury Award for his short film “The Afterlife of Grandpa” at the Houston International Film Festival in 1989. Pesce is the recipient of Grey Advertising’s Student Filmmaker Award and a Presidential Fellowship from Columbia University’s School of the Arts.
Basil Iwanyk and Phil Goldfine are producing the film, with Mary Viola, Alison Semenza and Rick Benattar serving as executive producers.
“Lost Boys 2: The Tribe” is a Warner Premiere production, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and distributed by Warner Home Entertainment.

From Corey Feldman's blog:
"I feel that I need to address some of the statements that have been made in reference to Corey Haim’s and my friendship and his participation in Lost Boys 2. I have always considered Corey Haim a brother and dear friend and have always been there for him. Although I am deeply saddened that he has decided not to participate in Lost Boys 2, it was strictly his decision. For the record, I was not willing to go forward with any production or deal until I was assured that Corey Haim was onboard. I received confirmation from my representation that Haim had announced that he was officially attached to Lost Boys 2.
After starting production in Vancouver, I learned that Haim had chosen to pull out of the project. The reasons for his decisions are his and his alone. Although I am saddened by Haim’s departure, I am enjoying working on the film and am very excited about working with my Frog Brother Jamison Newlander and to carry the torch forward. I am very proud to be part of this highly anticipated sequel for Warner Brothers and feel confident that we are making a film that the fans will welcome as a complimentary addition to the franchise."

The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe" is set to go direct to videoCorey Feldman has confirmed in his latest blog entry that "The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe" is set to go direct to video.
The blog reads as follows (as Corey Feldman is the "Original Blogger":
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND AN EXCITING NEW YEAR !!!!!
IF YOU LIVE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE VOTE HILLARY CLINTON ON TUESDAY!!!
Hi everyone,
First of all Hillary lost in Iowa, but that’s ok we still got a good shot if the people of NH will join forces and vote Clinton. It worked with the last Clinton why not try again? Now on to my stuff……this is an update of my previous entry with the same subject line. This particular entry has gotten a lot of attention for some reason so I have been updating it accordingly. Now on to last weeks entry…. We’ve had quite a turbulant past few months. Thank you for the warm and kind thoughts and prayers for Jake! I also very much liked hearing your companion stories….Good job on that bit Willow! Well it’s Christmas, Chaunakkah, Kwaanza, and New Years, a great time to reflect on our rights, and our wrongs, from the previous year. I know I sure made my share of stupid mistakes this year. I accomplished some goals as well. Although I still feel I have an extremely long way to go both personally, and professionally, to get to where I feel I need to be. By that I mean in the way of providing for my family, being a better friend, and being a better person in whole. I feel we are on this earth to constantly grow and change. I pray every day that I can change into a better person than the day before. More Patient, More Careing, More giving, More Loving, More understanding, and More Selfless. I long to do better at all of these but in the end I am only a human being, and I will make mistakes.
All that said I would like to take a moment to say hi to a few of you that have been dilligently writing on this blog. Firstly hi to Deborah and Chris, I do remember meeting you, and a thank you is never neccessary, as I am the one who is priveledged to be fortunate enough to bring a smile to the face of a sick child. I feel God has given me a gift when Iget to visit at the hospitals and give hope to someone who needs it. I will fulfill any request like that at any time as long as I am physically able. I hope this note finds you well, and may God bless you. Kristina and Tricia…..hello, I Love you, and thank you for your patience with me. I very much appreciate your daughters new found interest and I hope to bring joy and laughter to her heart for years to come. And to Jill, just a quick note of thanx for all that you are doing, the world really needs more selfless people and especially right now.
Well , heres some quick updates on what’s coming up this year…..firstly the powers that be at the A&E network have ordered a second season of “The Two Corey’s”. Will I do it? Should I do it? Frustrating isn’t it. Welcome to my world! haha….. Let’s just say we are currently having creative talks and negotiations to see if we can find a way to continue the show even given the broken state that Haim and my relationship is in . Please note for the record this is not about or because of Susie, the problems Haim and I have in real life occured after the show was over and do not have anything to do with the banter from last season. That said, if we do come back the next season will have to be darker, edgier, and more real because that’s where it’s at.
Also as you know Lost Boys 2 is on the way and from what Warner Bros. is saying it looks great, they are already talking about doing a third….. we’ll see! They have also commissioned a 4 issue series of comics that DC comics will be releasing with my image as Edgar Frog, telling the story of what happened between the first and second movie.
I also have two other films slated for release this year, both tiny little indie student films I did to help the kids out, The Terror inside, and Cluster. I wish them the best in getting them released. I also have several TV shows I am developing with my Manager and partner Scott Carlson, I will keep you posted on those. It also looks like I am finally going to get my film The Straight Man made. There is suddenly a lot of interest to get that project off the ground.
But perhaps the most exciting thing about this year is The 08 elections…..I CAN’T WAIT !!!! We need a change really bad right now and I sure can’t wait to see a new voice at the White House leading us out of debt and out of war. God bless the soldiers and their families who have suffered thus far.
Well I guess that’s it for now, I love you and God Bless, keep checking back, you know I will.
Peace, Love, Happiness
Corey

Corey Haim Back in Lost Boys 2!
He was in, he was out, now Corey Haim is officially reporting for vampire slaying duty in Warner Bros.' The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe.
Overnight, we reported news of additional shooting (via Corey Feldman's blog) and now we know why: All of the scenes excised from the script involving the Sam Emerson character are being re-introduced to the film.
Director P.J. Pesce is heading back behind the camera to lens the previously penned sequences (pre-strike, naturally) with Corey Haim playing Emerson. Feldman, as mentioned, will be involved and shooting is expected to begin very soon.
We're told this will not affect Warner Premiere's DVD release of "Lost Boys 2" and a summer debut is still in the cards.

From the Blog of Corey Feldman:
TIDBITS AND BATS!!!
Hi gang,
First off a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Hillary on her victorious day, I do believe she can become the Democratic nominee for the Presidency and I contribute that to the hard work and faith of so many of you in America who are looking for a change, and looking for the right answer, and I also believe that through our positive energy and prayer we will get exactly what we need.
Now on to other topics some very exciting news for Lost Boys fans I have just received word that MTV will be premiering the new trailer for LB2 next week. I am spending the day today at Warner Bros. doing some early press for the film as well as an-in depth sit down interview with both MTV and MTV.com to discuss the film the trailer and exactly when you can expect to see it. I know I have promised you pictures from the film, but I am still waiting for the powers that be to approve the photos for me to release. I would also like to again thank the dedicated fans who continue petitioning and harassing the studio. America is a country where your voices can and should be heard, and I do believe it is working. I may be speculating and I may be wrong, but in my experience (33 years) in this business I have never seen MTV (25 years) exclusively premier a trailer for a DVD, so let’s just say things are looking good. Again there is no official word from the studio as to the release plans for the film. A big thank you to the creator of the YOUTUBE video theatrical plea I was told by my trustee assistant Jake it is up to 4,000 views in nearly a week, that’s amazing, and kudos to the creator of the video, your ingenuity has become noteworthy.
And finally on a not so happy note filming is near completion on The Two Corey’s and with that, it may also be the end of the two Coreys as a thing, or an entity, or whatever you want to call it. Haim, and my friendship has taken another blow, and this one may be fatal. I really don’t see how it can possibly go on after what has transpired over the last few weeks……I really can’t say much more than that because you are going to have to see it to believe it. If I tried to explain to you the insanity Susie and I have been dealing with, you would never get the full picture without the visualization of what has really been going on. On a lighter note I just watched a rough cut of the first episode of the show and I have to say it really does look amazing. These guys are doing a great job at capturing this. It looks like a film and is far more artistic and real than any show of this nature that I have seen to date. It is 100 percent different than last season which was designed to feel like a sitcom, this feels like cinema.
A few more random notes………I did an interview today for ABC’s 20/20 promoting the show but also discussing the problems with the media’s obsession with addicted, and troubled celebrities, and my thoughts on the medical world and prescription drugs, and my past troubles and positive present, and all that good stuff. I believe the interview will air in a few weeks. Susie and I also just completed a photo shoot to prepare a campaign for PETA which should be released this summer alongside the show and the film.
That’s all for now, we will talk soon……….
Peace Love Hapiness
COREY

Lost Boys 2: The Tribe Trailer Goes Live on MTVView The Trailer: www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1583184/story.jhtml
Corey Feldman Says 'Lost Boys 2' Will Have Gore, Nudity And Corey It's one of the greatest last lines in recent film history: "One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach," Grandpa says at the end of "The Lost Boys," "All the damn vampires." So how do Corey Feldman and company raise the stakes for a sequel? With even more damn vampires, the affable 36-year-old laughed, happy to be returning to his most famous role after 21 years. We assume you've watched the trailer, exclusively here on MTV News. Now, Feldman wants to spill more secrets from "Lost Boys 2: The Tribe," including details on the plot, his favorite kill, his surprise co-stars and what it's like once again to don the headband of Edgar Frog. MTV: We've just watched the trailer. Now set it up — where are we at the beginning of "Lost Boys 2: The Tribe"? Corey Feldman: We're picking up 21 years after the original film took place. It's another small seaside town like Santa Carla, called Luna Bay. There are many fresh faces, but the interesting thing about those fresh faces is that they all have some correlation with the original film. So one of the things that you're going to see right at the beginning of the trailer ... is Chris Emerson, the nephew of Sam Emerson [Corey Haim] and Jason Patric's character, Michael Emerson. It's actually his niece and nephew that go on this new adventure, so it's really following characters that we've already established, that you're already familiar with. MTV: And Edgar Frog? How familiar will he feel? Feldman: I think that's one of the big questions: Corey Feldman returning as Edgar Frog all these years later — is he gonna look the same? Is he gonna sound the same? Is it gonna feel like you're watching the Frog brothers? I put on the costume, put on the headband, I grew my hair out, bleached it blonde again, I even made my eyebrows all bushy and crazy just like they were in the first one. I went to every length possible to make sure that I was emulating the appearance and the feel and the character as closely as possible to the first film. This guy hasn't changed in 20 years. He looks exactly like we remember him looking, other than he's got some neck tattoos, but that's the only physical difference. MTV: What about emotionally? Feldman: Emotionally, he has grown because he has been through the trenches since we saw him last. When we saw Edgar Frog in the original film, he was a movie geek, a comic book geek. But it wasn't reality for him, it was merely a fantasy, and suddenly he found himself in the midst of an actual caper where he had to do all the things that he dreamed of. Well, fast-forward 21 years — he's had a great deal of experience now. He's seen some very ugly things and been through some very hard times with his brother and, of course, Sam Emerson. And much of the story that has transpired in those last 21 years has made him tougher and braver and edgier. He's now doing it from a place of experience and expertise. He has rhino skin. There's nothing that can cut through 'cause he's braved it all before. MTV: So why is he still doing it then? Feldman: Well, one of the great things I think about the first film was that these guys had this bravado and macho outlook, but it was a façade — when they were actually confronted, you saw nothing but fear in their eyes. That's a great moment, when they're battling the guy in the bathtub and they're clenched together, holding onto their lives. All of that's washed away now. And you ask, "Why would he continue this journey? Why would he still chase and hunt vampires?" Well, it's become very personal now, because he and his brother have become known as the leading adversaries in the hunt against vampires. They're really the soldiers, the last stop between bloodsuckers and humanity. And he feels that it's his life quest, his mission, to continue this work. MTV: It seems to me you're saying the first film was really an arc towards heroism from bravado. What would you say of Edgar's arc in the second film? Feldman: Well, he's gone so far in the direction of John Rambo, of becoming this pillar of strength, this soldier in the night — which makes him not that far removed from the very thing that he's hunting. To understand your prey you must walk a day in his shoes. And certainly that's the case with Edgar. He's become so disconnected with the reality of humanity and civilization and society that he only lives in his own existence, so for him to be able to actually touch back on that humanity and remember what it was that was important to him as a human is really where you get to see a character arc. MTV: Do you have a favorite kill in this movie? Feldman: My favorite personal kill is one that involves an air-propelled water-grenade launcher. MTV: What about a favorite line? Feldman: Something along the lines of "Put a man near a fire, he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he's warm for the rest of his life." MTV: This is the part of the interview, sir, where I ask you about Corey Haim. I read your blog, and I read a couple updates, and I'm confused — is he in the film? Feldman: He is in the film. It's obviously something that we've been trying to keep under wraps because there's been so much speculation. There's been so much back and forth. But, that said, I am proud to say he is finally a part of the film. MTV: What's the biggest difference between this film and the first, then? Feldman: It's "Lost Boys" on steroids. And I keep using that terminology because it's really kind of factual. There's more gore, there's nudity, which there definitely wasn't in the first film. And it's modernized, everything from the wardrobe to the music to the types of bikes they're riding. MTV: Theatrical release or straight to DVD? Feldman: No one seems to have that answer. But I want to say one thing: I have been utterly dumbfounded by this process and amazed and shocked and overwhelmed by the tremendous response from the fans out there who are so indignant and so persistent in trying to see this film hit the big screen. I've never seen anything like it. Regardless of what happens in that battle, I'm proud to say that, watching the trailer, it feels like a big, exciting, explosive movie to me, and one that I would only imagine seeing on the big screen.

First Look at "Lost Boys 2: The Tribe" DVD ArtworkWow, they sure are pretty, ain’t they? I guess, for its time, the guys and gals in the first film were, too, so you really can’t complain too much. And hey, at least they kept the font from the original for Lost Boys: The Tribe, which hits DVD this summer.

Aiden's version of "Cry Little Sister" is good and not much of a change from the original, which is a good thing. Where is the updated version of "I Still Believe!" Dammit!
