ROB ZOMBIE: Issues Album Update
ROB ZOMBIE has issued the following update:
"Well, we have for the first time ever written more songs than we need for an album. Everything isn't 100% finished, but everything is moving along great. No release date yet."
Zombie spoke to BW&BK recently about his upcoming film, The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto, due out later this year. “That’s turning out to be just amazing. It’s a superhero monster sex comedy essentially. It’s for adults. It’s not for kids. El Superbeasto is a washed-up, over the hill superhero wrestler. It’s sort of like Austin Powers meets The Munsters. He’s like a swinger. All he does is go out to pick up chicks. So he goes to the strip club one night and sees this amazing stripper that he goes bananas for. But at the same time, Dr. Satan, who is searching for this Queen Of Evil that he must marry by midnight, sees the same stripper and realizes that’s the one with the Devil’s mark. The whole movie is them fighting over the same stripper, one because he wants to get laid and one because he wants to achieve world domination. It ends in hilarity. Along the way, there’s a giant army of undead Nazis - things like that pop up and get in the way. It’s really violent, really funny. I can’t think of anything else even remotely like it.”

A bunch of Rob Zombie updates for ya. He has been writing a blog here and there, so here is a quick recap.... - - Werewolf Women rides again!Werewolf Women of the SS is back! This time it's back as a comic book series! The wacky exploits of Commandant Hess, Lt. Boorman, Von Strasser Eva and Gretchen Krupp, Fu Manchu and even Hiltler will be coming you way. Everything you ever wanted to know about Project Pure Wolf but were afraid to ask!- - Rob Zombie's Movie of The WeekI watch a lot of fucking movies so I've decided to start a movie of the week recommendation. Some of these films are old, some are new, some are well known, some are not... basically it is whatever I feel like turning you folks onto. This week's pick is:
Cutter's Way (1981)
starring Jeff Bridges and John Heard
Cutter's way the story of Richard Bone (Jeff Bridges) a tanned, boat salesman playboy and Alex Cutter (John Heard) a drunken, one-eyed, crippled Vietnam vet ( Gary Sinise must have seen this before working on Forrest Gump, long haired Lt. Dan is real close to Cutter). One rainy night Bone turns down the wrong alley and sees a man after having just dumped a woman's body in a trash can. He later thinks it might have been oil magnate JJ Cord.
Against Bone's wishes Cutter joins forces the victim's sister and hatches a blackmail plot to extract vengeance. Bla, bla, bla I hate explaining shit.
Nuff said, just watch it. It's a great fucking movie.
- - Rob Zombie's Movie of The Week #2
This week's film is : PETULIA (1968)
"It's a very real film about two people trying to get through to each other," said director Richard Lester (A Hard Day's Night, Help,The Three Musketeers) says of his landmark romance Petulia.
Featuring the always stunning Julie Christie as a socialite trapped in an abusive marriage trying to get through to a recently divorced doctor ( play by the great George C. Scott). Set against the exploding flower-power scene of San Francisco with cameos from Janis Joplin and The Grateful Dead.
I know this isn't the usual type of thing you guys watch but I hope you dig it."Rob Zombie is watching you poop."

ROB ZOMBIE: Completes Work On WHITE ZOMBIE Box Set
Rob Zombie has completed work on the long-delayed WHITE ZOMBIE box set. In a posting on his MySpace page, he writes, "Well, I am now holding the finished newly master WHITE ZOMBIE box set in my hands. Yes, it is done! A long time coming but it is here. I'm not sure what the release day is yet, but it shouldn't be much longer. I'm pretty you'll be getting under your Christmas tree. All I can say is boy the early shit is whacked. I haven't heard some of these songs in over twenty years. I don't know what the hell we were thinking. Everything is including on this set. Over 4 and 1/2 hours of music plus tons of never before seen videos. Five discs in all."
Rob Zombie recently spent time in the studio working on material for his next studio album. Zombie wrote in a May 2008 online posting, "Well, we have for the first time ever written more songs than we need for an album. Everything isn't 100% finished, but everything is moving along great."
Zombie's next studio effort will follow up 2006's "Educated Horses", which was his third solo CD. He also released his first concert recording, "Zombie - Live", late last year. Although he's still apparently committed to making music, Zombie recently told Metal Edge magazine that the record labels are "dinosaurs waiting to die."

ROB ZOMBIE Putting Finishing Touches On New Album
RollingStone.com recently conducted an interview with Rob Zombie. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
RollingStone.com: How long have you actually been working on putting together [the new WHITE ZOMBIE box set] "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie"?
Rob: I haven't really been working on it for very long. I've been talking about it for a long time. A couple of years ago we started compiling tracks and tracking down all the different WHITE ZOMBIE members to get them to sign off on it. Then I made a movie and went on tour, so it's been dragging on for a couple of years. When I finally focused on it, I whipped the whole thing together in a couple of weeks.
RollingStone.com: Was there anything you came across that you forgot existed?
Rob: All the songs on the box set were actually released, but a lot of the early stuff on vinyl I barely remembered. Every time I heard one of those songs I thought, "What is this song?" Back then I was never happy with the records. I'd make it, listen to it once and never listen to it again. I'm sure there are tons of demos lying around too, but I didn't want to get into that.
RollingStone.com: So with the box set done, are you working on a new movie or a new record?"
Rob: I just finished the sound mix on "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto". After three and a half years, it's finally done.
RollingStone.com: What sort of release will that get?
Rob: We're trying to figure that out. It's the Astro Creep of animated films. I look at it and say "This could be fucking huge!" But everybody else could say, "Who the fuck is going to get this?" So in the meantime, I'm in the studio making a new record.
RollingStone.com: Do you know when it might be ready?
Rob: It's almost done. We're hoping to finish by the end of December, but it's probably too early to talk about a release date.
RollingStone.com: Are you trying anything new?
Rob: It's the first full-fledged band I've had since WHITE ZOMBIE. I've always had a revolving roster of studio and touring musicians, but the three guys in my band now have been on tour with me for years. So we're making it as a band. It's called ROB ZOMBIE, but we're treating it like a band.
RollingStone.com: Is it weird getting back into the band mentality?
Rob: I never liked being solo. I just did that because WHITE ZOMBIE became an unworkable situation. But you want to be in a band. The comaraderie is what's fun about it. There's nothing fun about a guy by himself in a studio.

Every once in Ronnie Meigs a while I run across a good timberland boots article... so I decided that, since 'Abbys Good Stuff' was using so little of the discount timberland boots web space that I already paid for, that I'd use up some of that space and grab some of the best cheap timberland boots articles I read and reprint them here. This is a new thing, but it will grow. The timberland mens boots articles and editorials I choose will be on a wide variety of subjects - the only thing they will have in common is that I liked them when I read womens timberland boots them and somehow got permission to reprint them here to share with you. I'll try to add at least one new one every week, and of course you can send a timberland outlet suggestion if you have, or know of, a good article that I could add.
