Decent - but what's up with starting off your "Greatest Hits" Album with a cover song - Korn is doing the same thing with theirs. Both releases are just attempts to sell some more albums and both will fall pretty flat in sales I believe... why??? - cause everbody already has all of these songs. If there is one thing that will be elimated by computers it will be "The Greatest Hits" Album - I could make these albums here in 10 minutes (excluding the covers) Why would I possibly buy it???
...And for the record...I have bought all of Manson's studio album releases and all of Korn's except their most recent...no downloading in this case.#nosmileys

You make a good point. Manson's greatest hits, however, will be worth buying for the DVD.

Is the DVD a bonus? Or is it like a 2 disc set type of deal?...

I'm not sure. At first, I assumed the DVD would be packaged with the CD like the Pantera and Rob Zombie best of compilations. But it doesn't actually say that anywhere. I don't know.
Whether it's with the CD or sold separately, the DVD will definitely be worth picking up.

You forgot to mention that badass Deicide album where the DVD comes bundled. I've got one of the rare limited ones. Suckers.

Pretty much, if a band I really like includes a "bonus dvd" I'm more than likely to pick it up. Out of all the things they are trying to do to sell albums, this is definetely the best idea I think.

Original post by Muthagoose The Buchan Observer is reporting that an international hate campaign has been mounted against a Scottish man who is trying to ban Marilyn Manson from playing Jesus in a new movie. Scott Morrison's online petition to stop movie makers portraying Jesus as a swearing, dope-smoker has more than 1,000 signatures — but the 28-year-old has also been bombarded with abusive e-mails from across the globe. Manson is rumored to play the part of Jesus in George A. Romero's black comedy "Diamond Dead". A Manson fan "tricked" Morrison into an interview, by claiming he was a reporter from the British rock magazine Kerrang! The fan posted Morrison's comments on Marilyn Manson's web page a few days after their conversation. Morrison says he was not prepared for the reaction he has received. He is also campaigning for the removal of scenes where a minister indulges in sexual bondage and Christians use guns. His petition, on Portuguese web site PetitionThem.com, has become the most visited page since being posted two weeks ago. However the film makers have not yet confirmed that the scenes which Morrison wants deleted will even appear in the final movie. AG Productions' "Diamond Dead" web site has a full script for the movie. www.diamonddead.com/

Adult film superstar Jenna Jameson says that the reason she "kissed and told" about her sexual liaison with MARILYN MANSON in her new book is because he publicly bragged about the affair. In the book, "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale" (ReganBooks), Jameson writes about the "massively endowed" Manson, stating that the shock-rocker's predilections for armpit-sucking and "cuddling" proved too much for the "world's most famous adult star."
Speaking to Steppin' Out magazine, Jameson explained her reasons for revealing the intimate details of her encounter with Manson. "He wrote about it in his book and he bragged about it on 'Howard Stern'," she said. "Had he not done that, I would have left out a lot of the details. I've always been so hush-hush about my dealings with celebrities. The same thing happened with [former MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer] Tommy Lee. I denied everything and then he bragged. Hold on a second! I was fine with the whole 'Howard Stern' thing. You can say that we're dating. But when you put it in writing and you don't tell the whole truth, then I'm going to have to make that right and tell the truth. That's what I did."

MARILYN MANSON has commented on the departure of guitarist John5 from the group's ranks.
In a brand-new interview with MuchMusic, Manson said, "I'm sure by now everyone thinks I'm a complete and total dick that just kicks everyone out of the band.
Asked if he's ever felt anything but alone in the band, Manson responded, "I always feel like other people are interchangeable. It's really about where your heart is.
"Getting rid of John was very amicable," he continued. "I think he'll be happier, 'cause I wanted to… I didn't wanna get stuck making him into someone he wasn't. And he's not like me, he's not like anyone else in the band. I don't think he had the same emotional attachment that the rest of us did, whereas [former MANSON bassist] Twiggy just didn't wanna be there anymore. [He wanted to] step outside and see if he can do it on his own and, you know, he's figuring that out right now. What's next is gonna be something completely more extreme and more interesting, and with that, some of the fat has to be cut." Manson's account of John5's dismissal from the group appears to differ from the guitarist's version of the events that led to his firing. In an itnerview with MTV.com published in early April, John5 said that he received a call from MANSON's manager on March 30 letting him know that his services were no longer needed.
With regards to why he was kicked out, the guitarist said, "I don't know. . . I was nothing but nice to him," he continued. "I never screwed up onstage — well not really badly — and I did everything I could to get along with him. Maybe, just maybe, it had something to do with the fact that I don't drink or do drugs, and he's not like that at all. Maybe he held that against me. I don't know. He never said."

MARILYN MANSON has told MTV.com that he prefers to call his upcoming greatest-hits collection, "Lest We Forget: The Best of Marilyn Manson", "a farewell compilation."
"You get frustrated sometimes when you know that your heart is really buried in your art, and you know more success equals being more mediocre," Manson said. "So you have to redefine success, and you can't compete with people who don't do what you do. It's not really a 'greatest hits' because I was never really a top-40 artist." The deluxe edition of the album, due out Tuesday, features a bonus DVD containing all of Manson's videos, including one that has never been seen before. The clip, for the song "(s)AINT", was directed by actress Asia Argento — Manson's co-star in the upcoming film "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things" — and was deemed too graphic by Interscope Records.
"I paid for it myself because I wanted it to be unfiltered and untampered with by the label. I want people to see it uncensored," Manson said. "It is explicit. I tried to paint myself in the darkest portrayal of all my darkest, lowest moments. It takes place in a hotel over two days, and the agreement between [Argento] and me was that everything would be real. It was pretty graphic."

From the Edmonton Sun ...
LOS ANGELES -- Marilyn Manson releases a greatest hits collection, Lest We Forget, on Tuesday, but he almost gave the music thing up for acting. It all came about during his work with Asia Argento - the daughter of Italian horror director Dario Argento - on her film, The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things, which recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
"It's an ensemble cast," says Manson. "So I guess everybody had sort of a small part. Mine's kind of the worst one at the end, where I play a confused, drunken white-trash guy who mistakes his girlfriend's son for her because he's sexually confused and dresses up in her Victoria's Secret mail-order underwear, and it's a really disturbing scene."
Apparently, Manson liked working so much with Argento - best known in the mainstream for her starring role in the 2002 Vin Diesel film XXX - that she directed the video for the bonus song (s)Aint on the limited edition DVD version of his greatest hits.
"This video is probably best unrated 'cause I don't think it would fall under an R-rating," says Manson.
"And I wasn't trying to be graphic or shocking. But the song (s)Aint was I wanted to do something that someone had never seen from me. Just me at my worst. No makeup - not shaven. Just almost like Leaving Las Vegas. Just the deepest, deepest depression - it's where I was. I was trying to recreate how I felt, prior to me just relaxing and taking it easy and not stressing about work so much. And just winding down off of being on tour for eight months. You become oversaturated with energy and drugs and alcohol, everything possible."
Manson describes the despair that Argento captured and even he can't quite believe it.
"The video just takes you through pieces of my life that stood out," he continues. "The loneliness, the self-hatred, self-destructive, I-can't-anyone-I-know-on-the-phone-type of feeling. So there's a series of people I don't know - the comfort of strangers. But it just becomes excessive self-destruction, inhaling pain slowly, until it manifests in a waterfall of nosebleeds, self-mutilation and three-way sex scenes with men, and stuff like that."
Even Manson seems to know it's way out there.
"I know that sounds absurd. If I threw an elephant in, it would probably seem completely unbelievable, but I actually feel somewhat shocked by it when I watch it. But I wasn't trying to do that.I showed it to my father and he liked it. In a way it was exorcising demons by acting out."

According to The NIN Hotline (www.theninhotline.com), MARILYN MANSON confirmed in an interview on the radio station DC101 that former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Chris Vrenna will be playing on MANSON's upcoming "Against All Gods" tour.
As previously reported, MARILYN MANSON drummer Ginger Fish was injured when he fell from a raised stage while performing at the VIVA Comet awards last Friday (Sept. 24). He suffered injuries including a fractured arm and a broken nose. His recovery is expected to take several weeks.
In other news, MANSON recently responded to recent comments about him made by NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor on the NIN web site, nin.com. The following appears in the latest issue of Rolling Stone.
What musician has been the biggest asshole toward you?
If I were the kind of person to be insulted by petty things, I would be insulted by the way Trent Reznor has acted since I moved from Nothing Records [Reznor's label] on to Interscope.
I was at Madison Square Garden when you two kissed and made up a few years ago. What happened after that?
Since then, he's made remarks that I don't care to respond to. And as long as I'm paying his bills, he should be respectful of me.

MARILYN MANSON has told the U.K.'s Mirror.co.uk that he disapproved of the scruffy tracksuit Britney Spears wore for her controversial marriage to Kevin Federline.
"I found that really terrible," he said, "Ultimately, I suppose it's whatever makes you happy.
"But I do have an old-fashioned sense of tradition — although it's not always what everyone might find conventional. If you're going to do something like getting married, it should have a sense of celebration to it. It should be grand — it doesn't have to be in tracksuits!"
Manson said that he is ready to walk down the aisle with 33-year-old Playboy beauty and stripper Dita Von Teese, a model who loves to show off her 16in waist in PVC corsets. "We were thinking about doing it in Europe," said the happy groom-to-be. "We don't want to invite anyone from America.
"A friend of mine is an artist and has a castle in Germany so we're thinking about that, too."
Manson is no bed-hopping rock star. "I totally believe in monogamy with the right person," he said.
"I do want lots of kids, too, but not any time soon. Ultimately, that's how you make yourself immortal — by passing down your ideas and values to your children.
"But I don't have the time right now... and I think pregnancy would cause problems with Dita's corsets!"

Marilyn Manson will marry his girlfriend Dita von Teese in Berlin and the two are looking for a castle in the area where they can hold the ceremony, the German news site DW-World.de reports.
The 35-year-old singer, known for his macabre lyrics and gruesome stage shows, plans to stay for a few months and may also make a film while he is here, a spokesman for his record company told German tabloid Bild.
The happy couple are expected to tie the knot in November.
Manson is a regular target for religious and conservative groups who claim that he exerts a dangerous influence on young fans.
His 32-year-old bride-to-be is a burlesque dancer.

Launch Radio Networks is reporting that November 13 has been set as the date for MARILYN MANSON's appearance on the Fox network's "Mad TV", airing at 10:00 p.m. MANSON taped a performance of his new DEPECHE MODE cover, "Personal Jesus", on October 15. According to postings on a MANSON newsgroup, MANSON unveiled his new band lineup at the taping, which features former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Chris Vrenna and former FIGHT/DANZIG guitarist Mark Chaussee.
Vrenna is subbing for Ginger Fish, who was injured in a stage fall during a German TV performance last month. There's no word on whether Chaussee is the permanent replacement for guitarist John 5, who was dismissed from the group earlier this year.
